Did they said he would play against BVB? I thought they said he would get some minutes on the weekend.

I like the KHR quote. If somehow he is returns to form like Thiago did and we have a back three of Benatia - Martinez - Boateng I have hope.

It's a good thing he didn't play in the Pokal, due to all the other players that were injured. I'm sure bvb would have taken him out too.

Makes better sense anyway in this coming game against neverkusen, as there won't be as much pressure as there was in the pokal game.

Time to show he's better than Mascherano.

I'm starting to get worried. Why is he not playing regularly? Timeline:

16th March: training with the ball. [source]

1st April: Rummenigge says Martinez will be back in about two weeks. [source]

22nd April: Martinez is back in team training. [source]

24th April: Martinez spends the entire 90 minutes on the bench against Hertha BSC
27th April: Guardiola says Martinez will get a few minutes against BVB. [source]

28th April: Martinez is not even named in the matchday squad against BVB
2nd May: Martinez is in starting XI against Bayer Leverkusen, subbed out in 62'
6th May: Martinez spends the entire 90 minutes on the bench against Barcelona
9th May: Martinez spends the entire 90 minutes on the bench against Augsburg

The injury to JM was a prelude of what was to come... an injury plagued season...

Finally today it will be the end (cause no miracle can get us to Berlin) ...

Because his knee was completely destroyed and he was out for 9 month.

A bit of an off-topic reply. My point is that he was fit enough to be on the bench almost 3 weeks ago, and play 10 days ago, yet he's not getting any minutes anymore. The injury he had is pretty irrelevant unless he's suffering from setbacks.

ACL is about the most serious injury one could have, you always take it slow when coming back.

Taking it slow would be playing him for 5 minutes at first, then 15, then half an hour, then 60 minutes, then a full 90.

Martinez went from bench to not in squad, to playing 62 minutes (certainly not taking it easy for a first time back from injury), to 2 matches in a row on the bench.

Seemed alright last night, hopefully he can get a few more games before the end of the season.

On the other hand I also believe that he is not Pep's type of player and that he will continue to struggle here.

Is Martinez OK ? He hasn't played the last few matches of last season and was not in the squad for the Telekom Cup.
