Ouch! If it proves to be a broken metatarsal, then he should be looking at 2 to 3 months on the sidelines. Knowing our board, we will not get a replacement but keep faith in our players...

Boateng will slot into CB and Rafinha will play RB.

He is out for the rest of the season. 3 Months atleast, then light training & then he would need another 1 full month to get back to peak fitness & FORM.

Atleast 4 months overall before he can play 90 minutes & at CHL level consistently. The season gets over in less than 4 months.

SO now we have 2 young mistake prone & inexperienced guys like Bads & Boa as only CB's. Breno is already a lost case & after his tattoo episode recently after complaining of illness I think he should be kicked out anyway.

WE need a NON-CUP TIED GOOD CB. There is only 1 I can think of -> Dante.

OR Agger from Liverpool if he Bayern can make him come. Impossible really.

Boateng has played well as CB. Rafinha is the guy who needs to step up so he can start as RB and Boanteng as CB. I trust in both Rafinha and Boateng.

BTW

So he will be out for at least 8 weeks it seems

I am afraid this is the nail the coffin in regards to his Bayern career. It will be difficult enough to regain his old form after a fairly long injury, but this also means that a replacement is going to be brought in sooner rather than later. Poor guy. Hope he gets well ASAP and gives us all that he's got left in his tank come spring.

While being sad for DVB, I think this will have a very positive effect on FCB. This should mean that we start playing the defensive lineup we all want, and also rotation in defense will probably be seen much less.

The most worrying thing is that Breno is our only backup. Fingers crossed that changes this week.

Bayern directive has many days to contract a central defender.. Anyone will be a better alternative than Breno....

But if they cant, or if they dont want to contract someone, so Heynckes must use Luis Gustavo as the first alternative in the bench for defense.

But please, Heynckes.. NO BRENO

Daniel van Buyten is back in light training! However there is no estimate on his comeback yet.

Great! I'm sick and tired of not even threatening from a single set piece.

So true. Every time we have a set piece, I'm not in the least excited.

Yesterday van Buyten was operated again to remove supportive metal plates. He should be back "in a few weeks".

van Buyten's recovery is taking a bit longer than first estimated. He is now expected to be back in training around the end of this month.
