Who would have thought we wouldn't have qualified by the time we meet them. I hope Portugal draws against USA, so we can do the math whether we need to come first or second in the group  although I know Germany never does that.

I did, but I expected us to draw with Portugal, not Ghana.

To be honest I had no emotions before the game against Portugal, I just knew we would easily wipe them, as we have in the last 3-4 tournaments. Ghana was my pick for the toughest opponent in the group. I remember the game in 2010, which was a close battle. However, USA should not be underestimated. They will be very motivated against us, and we need a good performance against them. But after seeing the performance in the game vs Portugal (which really surprised me, defensive wise), I thought the third game would be formality by now.

Neurogenic Muscle Spasm in his left thigh

Khedira has a ligament injury in his left knee (not the one he had teared this season)

This looks like it'll be even harder than Ghana. Brilliant performances! Luckily a draw is enough to win the group, and we also have more than a day's more rest than USA.

So after watching the Portugal vs USA match I think it's pretty obvious that the Americans can hurt us. I hope all of you America-haters will stop speaking of them as if their team is a joke; that's terrible karma 8)

They're above average as a counterattacking team and certainly have the pace to frustrate our slow-motion defense. Other than that, they bring maximum effort to every game in a way that many of the top-ranked teams can only dream of. Not just in this tournament but time and time again we have seen the USA pull unbelievable goals out of nowhere, sometimes at the most convenient possible moments. They can score off set pieces, nifty passing in the box, long shots, individual plays; you cannot take them for granted when they are on the attack! Of course, their biggest weakness is defensive lapses that end up in free goals for the opposition (most recently Nani's gift)

Very impressed with the USA team, who many people tend to regard as weak. Their teamwork, team ethic and ability to pass around or beat a man is equal or superior to a number of the better-regarded teams. Hopefully our players won't underestimate them like they have a tendency to do.

And they could always opt for another Disgrace of Gijon again :P

Crazier things have happened, but with the USA tie with Portugal today, Germany can coast and still go to the next round. I was worried about a big Portugal win today.

Looks like klinsmann isnt such a bad coach after all. Perhaps NTs is his thing. Usa looked very strong today. Played with a clear idea and many mediocre players played beyond their normal abilities. Shouldve won today.

Once I got over Klinnsman's nonsense decision to cut Donovan, I have come to realize that he's doing a great job with this national team. No complaints from me. Today in particular I thought the lineup and substitutions were excellent. He carries himself well too... for all the flak he gets around here, who among us wouldn't trade him for Löw in a heartbeat? I know I would

Im hoping for a friendly behind doors hand shake from Löew and Klinsmann and a 1-1 draw
Statistics are like miniskirts . What they reveal is tantalizing, but what they hide is crucial.
