I would like to thank JL for finally opening his eyes and mind and bench Khedira and FINALLY starting Basti as he proved one more time that he should be a starter every damn time. Now if he benches Özil and start Göetze that would be amazing. Also as most guys here I feel that Durm or KG should start instead of Höwedes but I know I am asking for a miracle here. Just to be clear I believe that all of them are great players but they are way out of form and an extreme liability.

A decent performance from Die Mannschaft, considering the almost unplayable conditions. I was pleased to see Poldi start, just to get his feet wet (no pun intended) in this WC 2014. He'll do better as Germany continues on their march to glory. Like several others here, I believe Howedes is Germany's biggest liability and Low needs to address it immediately.

Algeria has shown they are a fast team and can do considerable damage on the counter-attack. Having four CD's make up the entire defensive backline is not going to cut it against stronger & faster opponents. Lahm needs to go back to his natural RB position and have Grosskreutz as LB and then move Boateng to CB with Hummels. Germany's midfield has so many options, it doesn't matter to me who start,s but I would like to see Klose continue to start as a true striker, since he is so dangerous and has the desire to become the all time goal scoring leader in WC history.

Another thing that surprised me was how aggressive the american squad was. Basti took quite the beating multiple times, and they even hit themselves (or the ref). :D

In the same time all US had to do was be careful not to concede lot.

Actually I find it quite funny in that sense.

That's what I understood on the tweet I posted as well not the half-Americans.

(Off-topic) I understand what a team made out of half nationalities is like. My own national team has started like that because football is not very popular yet and the local league wasn't able to supply the quality yet. Stephan Schrock, a bench warmer in Eintracht is our best player. Our former coach was provided by the DFB. Now, our coach is Thomas Dooley, another German, technically a Half German-American. Germany is helping a lot of countries develop in football not just by providing financial aid and lending coaches but also giving them players.

I forgot to say that Lahm played well in midfield yesterday. :D

The only change I would make heading into the Algeria game is Durm for Howedes. Maybe drop Ozil.
