As for the formation, we have always conceded many goals with the 4-1-4-1 so the 4-2-3-1 is much safer. However, let's not forget who our defenders were yesterday. With a better defense and Kroos, we wouldn't concede 5. Still, it's a risk...

I am assuming Schweini will take the DM position, although perhaps it does make more sense to play him further up next to the attacking midfielders. However if Schweini does take the DM spot, then Kroos is the best player we have that can be an AM while also helping out Schweini.

Don't be silly people Ter Stegen is still miles above Wiese, and even Kahn conceded five goals in a friendly once.

Against who? How old was he?
ALSO, Wiese = Conceded 2 against FRANCE.
Ter Stegen = 5 Against Switzerland, now I agree some of them are because we had a back line only LVG can be proud of, but the worst moment was when Derdiyok rose above him to head it in I was like "OH COME ON!!!!!!"
And I'm the one that hates Wiese so much.
I'm a bit confused wether he or Zieler will get the axe, before this game I was like "Definitely Zieler", but now, I'm confused.
If every Baumann, Trapp,Zieler, and all the young crop of goalkeepers and they all perform this sub-par, then consider this goalkeeper generation useless :S
Jesus saves, but Kahn does it better ;)

I think he just did:

Whitney wrote:Mats Hummels has been the Bundesliga's best defender for two-and-a-half years. [ :? ] And yet, when he puts on a Germany shirt, he looks half the man that he is in Dortmund's black and yellow ... Meanwhile, Per Mertesacker ... was similarly abominable at the back, albeit with the excuse of having missed several months with an ankle injury ... In any case, neither is anywhere near ready to play alongside Holger Badstuber at Euro 2012:

He does provide another option:
Whitney wrote:Low would be wise to consider Benedikt Howedes, who had a fantastic game against the Swiss, as another option.

we played 5-4-1 against Ukraine, with to wingbacks lahm and aogo, with badstuber boateng and hummels in center, and we played 4-1-4-1 aginst brazil, but then Batian was the midfield anchor, khedira didn't play, ozil muller kross and poldi were in midfield, and klose upfront. 4-1-4-1 works with kross and schwein, and with muller (cause he has hight work rate, and always tracks back).

what we saw with swiss NT, was MerteSUCKER, playing with hummels(they never played together before) and schmelzer who failed left wing. Benedikt was by far the best defender, even though crosses came from hi wing, still he can' be blamed for it, he would be a perfect partner to badstuber against counterattacks, but in deadball situations, and crosses, we need a physically dominant defender, and only one we have is Hummels, so he must learn to play with Holger. end of story.

Gotze playing as a CM, NEVER AGAIN, repeat after me, NEVER AGAIN, the kid just can't defend. Gundogan is too unexperienced(losing the ball in defense). Klose needs time to recover, but still i think his time has passed.
schurrle should play the left wing, mueller right (with reus as an ACE sub) ozil CAM.

MUST BE CUT - CACAU
It's a mistery to me why not helmes nor kiessling were called to 27 NT

Kahn conceded 4 against ROMANIA in the first half. Then he left the match in the half time.

I haven't seen the game x, so can't comment on specifics, but a goal keeper can only do so much.

He's the only player in a team which is so reliant on others.
To all those, Over the years,

Munich as strangers
