Khedira injured his ankle ligaments during training without being tackled (cause is probably the artificial grass)

Podolski and Schweinsteiger did not train today but will join the team training tomorrow

The thing is that the range is extremely wide in ankle injuries

It could be a normal ankle sprain that goes away in an hour
Or it could be a severe injury that requires surgery and the player missing for more than a month!!

I remember one time when I sprained my ankle and ended up with a ball-size foot for almost 15 days. It takes way more time to heal 100%, though.

Ballack will be in the ZDF studio in Mainz on Friday, to analyse the Kazakhstan V Germany game.
He will be covering for Oli Kahn who is doing Charity work in South Africa.

Based on what we have seen recently while playing for the national team the fact that "Podolski trained normally" is an upgrade by itself.

BILD's prediction

What the hell is Podolski doing in the starting lineup? :-k Just put Schürrle or Reus in his place and it will be a very interesting lineup even though I think that Schürrle, Reus and even Podolski could play the false 9 role better than Götze
I TRUST IN ARJEN ROBBEN
