I think Boateng should get a start. Howedes has been fairly poor recently, and Boateng is showing some good form that should give him a chance.

I just realized that after the 2nd match against Kazakhstan Lahm and Schweinsteiger will have the same number of caps(98) since Schweini won't be playing. How awesome would it be if they both got their 100th cap in the same match?

Obviously that probably won't happen until the WC qualifiers in the fall, but it's something cool to think about. From the looks of the schedule, if they both are left off for the 2 friendlies in the US and then play in the Paraguay friendly in August, they can get their 100th caps in Munich against Austria. :D [-o<

On the official DFB homepage

Benedikt Höwedes and Mario Gomez will definitely miss the match

So what's the news on Gomez? Is he training at least? Will he be able to play at the weekend or against Juventus?

I dont see Mandzukic helping you a lot against Juventus, he is a shadow of player in CL, you need Gomez. Better pray for his recovery. :P

Low's logic: Better call up Gomez even though I've spent months telling the world how we need small, fast strikers who aren't really strikers. Now he's injured and for no reason. Thanks a lot, dickhead.

Except Merta all other players come from Bayern, Dortmund and Madrid.

I asking myself when was the last time that Germany fielded 4 Dortmund players for an oficial match?

I'd prefer Reus to play from deep, as he has a direct style of play with a lot of speed and a great quick shot. Ozil as a striker with Kroos as CAM might be a good try-out. Maybe we see that in the second half.
