Germany vs Italy

Germany vs Italy
Competition: Euro 2012
Venue: Stadion Narodowy w Warszawie, Warsaw (neutral venue)

In the Euro 2012 semifinal, Germany will meet rivals Italy and will be hoping to avenge the defeat they suffered in the same stage of the 2006 World Cup on home soil. Germany will benefit from a fitness edge, having played for 90 minutes a whole 48 hours before Italy played an energy-sapping 120 minutes against England in the quarterfinals.

I think Maggio. Schweinsteiger is doubtful for Germany.

Funny. The only time when Germany doesn't have a major suspension heading into the final stages, our key player gets injured.

De Rossi and Abate were both subbed off due to knocks, any update on them?

Chiellini also is on question, he is injured still, but can be fit on match day

He was the worst player against Greece. He misplaced most of his passes. I would be happy if Kroos takes his place.

Everything except history is in Germany's favour this time. I don't think Germany have ever beaten Italy in a competitive tournament. It's time to end this once and for all.

It's time for Germany to shake this monkey off their back. I'm tired of losing to the Italians and if we don't beat them this time we wont ever do it. I hope the team can see past what has become a stupid complex. Tactically we need to play fast tempo and neutralize Pirlo on their counters.

couldn't agree more. now or never.no excuses this time. Germany has its destiny in its own hands. If they don't get past Italy, then they don't deserve the contender status they have. it will mean they have yet to mature, but I think this time around it is their moment to make history and break records and if they win the trophy, then they truly deserve the 'golden generation status' for beating anyone in their road, including all possible favorites, i.e. Holland, Portugal, Italy, Spain (or Portugal again:) ) so it's up to them. If they really want it then, I think no one can stop them..

I hope he plays with the same line up as last match except Goetze for Schurrle

Not a bad idea. I will favor as well a more technical Germany vs. the Italians. We have always lost against them even if having the upper edge in terms of physicality---time to change things around. This is the most technical German side in a while, but especially when we bring players like Reus and Goetze into the mix to complement Ozil's technical ability in the team. I will also favor Klose over Gomez because he plays in the Italian league and didn't see to have much of a problem with Italian defenders.
