Normally I am not critical of coaches and I tend to assume that they know better than I do no matter what. That said, I'm pretty sure Löw is either an idiot or he secretly hates Germany. Today was a tactical disaster.

Best result would be a draw between USA and Portugal.

Euro 2008 it was Croatia who beat the Germans by 2-1...
WC 2006 Germany won vs Poland 1-0 and during last Euros edition Ger won 2-1 vs Nederland.

Look at the above!!!
It also happened in 2002 after the 8-0 win vs Saudi Arabia - 1-1 vs Eire... it is a German tradition (it seems) 8)

Let's look at the positive side of these dropped points. If we finish second this is a realistic possibility (requires Chile, Brazil, and Costa Rica to win their groups):

I'd happily take it to be honest.

Doesn't matter much. A draw vs USA takes us through to the next round whatever happens.

I think it's an easier route, even more so if Russia win their group. Argentina does not look impressive, facing them rather than France would be good. As for the semi final Croatia and Chile can be dangerous but I'd rather face them in a semi-final than Brazil or the Netherlands. Brazil may have been unimpressive but if they reach the semi final you can rest assured they'll go all the way to the Maracana stadium.

That said, I still want us to win the group.

Most importantly is the US does not lose... If they do there will be extra pressure on the German squad + I want Portugal out.

If I am doing my math right if next game ends in a draw, a draw between the two old friends Loew & Klinsmann will result in both teams going through.

That's. A draw between them would be good because a draw between the two of us takes us both through.

Klose
PodolskiOzilMuller
KroosSchweinsteiger
HowedesHummelsMerteLahm
Neuer
and we thrash USA 4-0+. Don't know why Low brought in Mustafi instead of shifting Lahm.. And this game truly needed Schweiny, and Podolski to threaten the left flank.. Barely any attack came via the left, if only Reus wasn't injured..

The Lahm at DM experiment needs to stop. Second game in a row he coughs up the ball in their own third. A back line of 4 CBs is a bad idea and it showed in the second half with Boateng (the only one with good pace) out. You have the best RB in the world and instead you play him at DM? didiculous. I'd rather see Kroos or even Grosskreutz at the double if Jlo really doesn't want to see both Bastian and Sami at the double pivot.

I think we'll se this but Lahm in midfield, Boateng at RB, and Kroos instead of Poldi.
