[2011-09-02] Germany vs Austria

Postby Mazen96 » Fri Aug 26, 2011 1:50 pm

If Germany win they are mathematically qualified to the Euro 2012 I think.

Here's the squad:

Tor: Manuel Neuer (Bayern München), Tim Wiese (Werder Bremen), Ron-Robert Zieler (Hannover 96)

Abwehr: Jerome Boateng (Bayern München), Holger Badstuber (Bayern München), Benedikt Höwedes (Schalke 04), Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund), Philipp Lahm (Bayern München), Per Mertesacker (Werder Bremen), Christian Träsch (VfL Wolfsburg), Marcel Schmelzer (Borussia Dortmund)

Mittelfeld: Sven Bender (Borussia Dortmund), Mario Götze (Borussia Dortmund), Toni Kroos (Bayern München), Thomas Müller (Bayern München), Lukas Podolski (1. FC Köln), Mesut Özil (Real Madrid), Marco Reus (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Simon Rolfes (Bayer Leverkusen), André Schürrle (Bayer Leverkusen), Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern München)

Angriff: Mario Gomez (Bayern München), Miroslav Klose (Lazio Rom)

I'd like to see:

GK: Neuer
Back 4: Boateng-Hummels-Badstuber- Lahm
Midfield: Schweini-Bender
Attacking Midfield:Mueller-Oezil- Goetze
Striker: Klose.

Sidenote: Why hasn't Loew Called up a proper RB yet? We sure have more depth there than in LB.

Didn't know that there were international games coming up. Haven't looked up the tables, but iirc, Germany qualify even with just a draw.

I'd also love an all-ümläüt attacking mid, but I'd also like to see if Kroos playing along Schweini was a one-off or not. After the Brazil game, I'm sure Löw will be wondering this too.

Also, don't forget Alaba is playing too!

Bundesliga's top scorer will miss clashes with Austria and Poland following a thigh complaint, with Cacau replacing the former Stuttgart man"

I agree. I would like to see Klose in the first half an Schurrle as lone ST in the second to see how will he play there.

I read he is injured again. Abductor muscle issues. Though just one week apparently. If I didn't know better, I would guess he is deliberately trying to avoid getting called up...
