Tflags, do you mind posting these channels in a spoiler in the future (I edited the one above)? It's kinda annoying to see a huge list. :P

It's probably in his favor for the record as the match is in Germany and at Allianz.
If he scores 1 or 2 in first half, I think Gomez will play in the second half.

Where's Hummels?

Boateng really deserves that starting spot by the way. I hope Low actually recognizes that and start him tonight.

Well, if Hummels is not in the starting line-up I can't say I will be suprised. He is not in great form. Maybe some time on the bench is exactly what he needs.

I would say it very clearly. I don't want him to be on the pitch. May be the bench because there are better CBs than him.

The thing is that he's been performing very well for Arsenal. You could say he's been their best defender this year including the current and the previous season. And Hummels has performed bad as of late. So, Mertesacker's in the team based on his excellent club form as ironical as it may sound. :|

Well, if Germany lacks depth in one department that is CB's and with Howedes and Hummels not at their best right now (same with Westerman which was fringe for the NT already) there aren't too many options out there.

Now if we turn our attention to Merta, true that overall he does not look like German NT material but so far this season I am impressed with his timing and footwork in the games he has played for Arsenal, he is still slow but I give credit to Wenger for his patient taking him to a level that he can actually play the ball when it is on the ground. I still do not have a good feeling about this game since Khedira likes to run box to box with Germany and Kroos is not a prime defensive mid by trade and the Austrians have some speed up front. They are going to counter and that is where Merta and Boateng will be exposed if they do not have cover in front of them.

Bender/Kroos would be better than Khedira/Kroos.
But it's Low making the decisions.

Personally, I like Khedira's recent box-to-box game play. However, that would work well when Basti is partnering him. Otherwise, one of the Bender twins would be a better partner for the offensive-minded Kroos as you guys stated.

Bild was right.

So, no Gomez (Where's Mutu anyway?)
