We need to win this. Might be the last chance for Basti, Lahm and Klose to put their hands on this trophy.

Argentina hasn't been the attacking and attractive force everyone expected them to be. Quite the opposite. They have been very organized and solid defensively, with Messi and Di Maria trying to do the attacking work on their own. With the latter's return, they will be more dangerous when going forward. Nonetheless, the likes of Garay, Demichelis, and Biglia are not error-free. I think we play the best passing game in the attacking third, and that should help us enough breaking up their defense. If we score the first goal, I see the lads going on to pick up the trophy. We should be a bit careful on that high defensive line. They have very fast and skillful players upfront. And we should definitely keep the back four that played the last 2 games.

I've already starting losing my appetite for food because of this match :?
Exactly as MoFattal said, Germany needs to score first and if that happens they shall not sit back at all.
What is worrying me the most is that Argentina were very lucky in the process.
Di Maria will be back for sure... I just hope Hummels is fine - I haven't read anything on why he was subbed out vs Brazil... was it as a precaution? or because it was 5-0 already?

He has a small knee problem.

Reeeeally hoping he is fine for Sunday. He is a monster defending.

I was really confident until I saw yesterday's match and the way Argentina defended, and that made me very nervous. However, what gives me hope is that their three opponents in the knockout rounds so far have attacked them very little, but still managed to create at least one clear chance to score. The last team to really attack them, Nigeria in the last group match, scored twice against them and I'm sure their defence won't have as easy a ride as they have against the three other northern European teams they've beaten so far.

Then there's the Messi and Di Maria factor of course. Oh come on let it be Sunday evening already dammit! The waiting is killing me

Mertesacker won't play this match for certain. There's no chance, not at all. Draxler and Zieler will eventually play CB than that guy.

Argentina is the new Italy. Guys, we can expect hell at Maracana. Löw will have to be very, very wise and clever.

We have seen this almost in every single K.O. match. What can we expect vs. Argentina?

That left side will be especially under fire this time. Argentina were the most dangerous from their right side(Zabaleta, Higuain, Messi, Enzo Perez).

The greatest test for Höwedes... But what about Özil and his defensive duties? This won't just go like before. Can we expect Podolski or someone else instead of him?

We should stick with our winning formula. Let them change their plans rather than us changing ours. And we have bad experiences from trying to change tactics before big games.

This, but with Schuerrle instead of Klose. Klose got his 16th goal and overtaken Der Bomber now, so it's no time to pay him any more favours. Schuerrle has simply been more prolific than him this tournament, and only Oezil's selfishness prevented him from getting a hat trick against Brazil.

Someone's post from the Guardian (about Argentina):

But really, how have they come so far? They have scraped wins in every single game: 2-1 vs B&H, 1-0 vs Iran, 3-2 vs Nigeria, 1-0 vs Switzerland, 1-0 vs Belgium and 0-0 (4-2) vs the Netherlands. It's commendable that they've come so far, but they've been the most uninspiring team at the tournament when you consider the attacking talent they have to work with.

Matches with what I said earlier.

They have that "we'll still win this, the gods are on our side" feeling... quite scary to be honest.

Well, once in the life Özil got selfish. We he has an open line to shoot, he never does it. But it's still disgrace to miss 1 on 1 situation.

I have no special dislike for Mertesacker, but I really hope that he doesn't get playing in the final at all. If I have observed correctly, all the goals Germany conceded in the tournament were while he was playing and none were conceded when he was dropped.
