[2006-10-10] Germany U21 vs England U21 [V]

Postby MUTU » Fri Oct 06, 2006 10:56 pm

It's a difficult match for the Germany U21 now. If England score, Germany would have to score 3 goals because of the away goals rule.

Germany should be able to get the goals to eliminate england. it's just 1-0;

kiessling and Hunt should be able to do the job...and then there is Polanski...;)

and they are done now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Walcott finishes them off.... Germany had a hatful of chances in the first half and ultimately paid for not converting them.

0-2 Walcott again :(

Germany unlucky. They've had too many chances that they missed.
The players were tired near the end... after playing 85 minutes at high tempo with 10 men, they suddenly crumbled.

So... we're basically eliminated from U-21 Euro 2008 :( This sucks, it would have helped our youngsters to gain a little experience and perhaps for Rensing's and Ottl's market value to increase...

I think its awful news. Obviously I'm pleased for England, but I care more about Germany U21. Argh they all looked so crestfallen.
How come both teams havent gone through, does only one get to? I'm confused.
The game seemed really aggressive to me. Two sendings off. A penalty. It went beyond healthy competition to be honest. DFB are investigating racial remarks apparently. There definitely seemed a lot of bad feeling between the 2 teams.

It's not so terrible. Perhaps it would be better for the development of our youths if they are not burned out playing a lot of matches in an already busy schedule.

It is really sad that we dont do it.
I hold the reproaches of the Englishmen that our players have attacked them with racist words still for disoriented.
We are not so unfair.
Already not at all Aaron Hunt who is himself a half Englishman.

From my understanding, Germany is appealing the ban on Hunt. UEFA suspended Hunt for 2 games for inappropriate behavior, though they can't prove that he said anything. None of the officials said they heard anything but UEFA believed the teammate of the England player. I guess they didn't listen to Hunt's teammate. Hunt did say that there were verbal exchanges (trash talk)between the sides but nothing was racist.

Interesting how there's no proof but he got suspended anyway.
