Schweini will probably make it but Kroos is good enough to replace him, maybe even better. Schweini hasn't exactly been exceptional most of the time

It's a problem considering we're playing Pirlo next though

Germany are playing against Argentina on 15 August.

Loew better not call up any Bayern players

Due to a lost bet, I have to admit that in this Euro Gomez was better solution for the NT than Klose.

Maybe Klose's injury (or age) played a part, but Gomez was more profiling and seemed a better solution for NT.

BUT the major problem was that they both chocked against tight defence. IMO if Gomez cannot find a way to beat those tight defences (we can see that in the next year's matches against Dortmund), I think we should try to find another solution for the main striker of the NT (Reus, Muller or Schuerrle).

It is not all Mario's fault, defenses are isolating Gomez from the midfield so he is not really able to impact games without wingers pushing defenses back and the AMC attacking the D, sadly in the Italy game Kroos was on the wing and he is too much of a pussy(shud be a CM) and Podolski was not in form ...

Schürrle could be a good option. He is kinda slack in possession (remember the first goal v Greece?), but he has huge pace and great movement.

Agreed he wud be an excellent option, Personally i prefer Reus and Muller, but Gomez needs wingers who also go for goals cause if defenses only have to worry about the wingers crossing balls to Gomez they can mark him all day, but if they have to worry about wingers who are scoring goals also then Germany are near unbeatable :D

I do not blame either. Loew should never have messed with Gomez's confidence after the first two matches by benching him. Even though Klose deserved to start at least one game in the competition, the team comes before his pride. I am sure that Klose himself would agree.

I also think that not playing Muller helped the defenders to close down Gomez/Klose more easily.

He Tried to implement Heynckes's way with Bayern against tough opponents and midfield as the semifinal against Real

And that's of course failed

Because Bayern play in a completely different way than the national team whose style is more like Dortmund

Agree. If he used Gomez to keep their CB's busy then it is nonsense to have an empty right wing without Müller. :x

And about the lone striker solution... I like Schürrle because he is superfast but he is also very good scoring goals. I remember some games he played with Germany and he always found the way to score.

It works the other way too. Muller's movement would draw defenders towards him and away from Gomez :?
