Super Eagles’ trainer, Stephen Keshi, has told the press that all his effort to contact Nigerian attacking midfielder, Sidney Sam, who plays for German side Bayern Leverkusen have come to nothing.

“I have called Sidney Sam’s phone more than 15 times and each time, I get the answering machine. I have always left a message but he has never bothered to call back. I find this shocking. This tells a lot on his (un)willingness to play for the Eagles.”

Sidney Sam, 24, has been called at the junior, cadet and minim levels of the German football team except for the Nationalmannschaft A.

Klose's Euro 2012 is under threat through injury.

I hope he makes it, otherwise we will end up having Cacau ( ) as Gomez backup ...

If Klose doesn't recover in time for the Euro 2012, Germany's strike force would consist of Gomez, Cacau, Podolski and Kiessling. Is there a possibility of another striker? Potentially bringing back Kuranyi, or is that an absolute no go? Anyone knows how he's doing anyway?

Patrick Helmes seems to be a valid option also.

With backups of Cacau, Kiessling and Helmes we will pray that Gomez doesn't get injured. Also Podolski there or Reus would be a massive change of tactics.

Schürrle and Reus certainly. Would also give Löw the excuse he needs to stick Götze in the starting lineup.
The ideal team

I think Loew himself said that Helmes is an option if Miro misses the Euromeisterschaft... But I believe with Schuerrle, Reus, Mueller in the NT alongside Gomez, there is no need for a new striker... certainly not Cacau or Kuranyi...

Helmes is actually a good striker he has nice ball control and some skills.
The only problem he is an injury prone he makes Robben looks like the Hulk.

Helmes was being a great striker until his injury back in 2009. He has never recovered his form after that and he is a goal missing machine nowadays
