That's one overgrown 12 year old. Looks like puberty hit him way too early! Hope they do tests to check the player's ages because you don't want unfair competition at that level.

Very bad news for the National team. Hector, Kroos and Tolijan all suffered injuries this past week and Jonas is expected to be out until December. The other two are likely to miss anywhere between 2-3 weeks. Germany needs all their best possible players to win the last two qualifying games, especially with a difficult away trip to Belfast against ultra defensive opposition.

When has Toljan ever been in the squad? We can do without Kroos if Gündogan and Weigl and Khedira are back. We can also call Demme up. The only real issue is Hector. The LB situation is worrying. Leverkusen and Leipzig have to get Henrichs and Klostermann ready.

We need one point out of the last two matches. No matter what happens in Belfast, we're not losing at home against Azerbaijan.

Kroos is the best German midfielder. I hope he recovers in time for the Belfast match. He will be needed to break down a ten man defense and his experience of playing in front of hostile rival fans will be invaluable.

My mistake on Toljan, I confused the NT and the U21s. As for the LB role in Hector's absence, I see the Hertha LB doing the job. He even played a game in the Confederations Cup and also did a tidy job against Bilbao in the EL last Thursday.

EDIT: I know Germany will win the last group game but I still want a perfect 10/10! I don't want those pseudo-Irish to screw up Germany's qualifying record.

The Rudy-Kroos-Boateng-Hummels combination looked very strong today. I hope we see it in the World Cup. However, Goretzka as an attacking midfielder just didn't work well and Draxler generated very little without support from a number 10, so Muller was too isolated in the attack and we had to rely a lot on Kimmich in the attack. Fortunately, relying on Kimmich usually pays off.

Just found out Germany are playing England in London on 10th November but I have no holiday allowance left

Oh well, saves me having to listen to the German anthem being booed and various chants and "jokes" about the WWs.
