How convenient.

Defender Schmelzer has a sprained ankle and a throat infection, midfield playmaker Gotze has a viral infection and winger Reus has a groin strain. [source]

This appears to be so farcical.

If I am not mistaken there is a rule that states that if a player fails to turn for his NT (because of an injury) he has to take 3 days off... therefore missing the following match (league or cup) for his club.
To be honest I am not aware whether this rule is world wide or only in my country :? cause here a lot of clubs do abuse a bit with injury excuses!

Not to mention Reus' groin strain...

No Kroos?

Well, I guess it makes rotation easier for us v Schalke. Depending on which way you look at it.

Cool! I can watch it at home, I wasn't sure; I gotta work right now but I guess I will only miss the first few minutes.

This could have been a great chance to see Schürrle or Poldi as strikers now that Gomez is not in great form.

I will be watching the game of my national team so I will miss this. I hope you can give me an objective(!) review of Hummels's and Gundogan's performances. :) Or if it hurts to bad, just Gundogan's.

But Gomez needs match practice and he can't get that by us.

Mertesacker??? Is Low trying to lose this match. And Podolski instead of Schurrle is just crazy. Schurrle has played much better than Podolski in the NT.
Here (at his club of six years Bayern Munich) it is always good, here I am happy and here it's fun. That is more important for me than the national team.

The official lineup is Kroos instead of Poldi, so likely Özil will play as the winger.
