They shouldn't stop entirely because they are an effective build-up strategy but they need to be way more cautious and use them sparingly. After Porto I get a heart attack every time they attempt it with an attacker close by.

Very unfortunate for Germany to exit the tournament like this. France rode their luck big time. The Germans missed a lot of excellent chances (many by luck, some by poor finishing, and a few by the superb Lloris). A very silly penalty (harsh call) was given in a "deadly" timing. And that chaos before the second goal ( plus Neuer's unwillingless to just box the ball out ) was just amateurish. You'd expect more from the World champs, but the signs were there. Major injuries and bad form of key players had its toll.

Now let's give our lads a much needed rest and regeneration period and hope Jerome is healthy for us in a couple of weeks time.

the amount of home decisions were ridiculous the pen, every 50:50 and the way draxler was marked every corner was a stonewall pen genuinely amazed that i want portugal to win this now. With that said griezmann is some player and i hope boa will be fit as soon as possible.

Oh yes!

At the end of the day I always cared way more about Bayern than Germany because I'm not German. I don't even ever watch any NT games apart from these summer tournaments. i do get emotionally invested during the tournaments though and usually feel German by the end, so I'm still upset. Can't imagine what it must be like for you and the other German users.

Well... I watch the qualifiers, but I kinda hate them... And the friendlies are shit... Only watch those when there's really NOTHING else...
Actually with the racism and other shit we have right now it'd have been kinda good if we won... Storch started twetting right away how this team was not German... Bachmann complaining about Özil, Boateng, Khedira... Yeah right, they're not racist...
Thing is: This was our sixth consecutive sf... Not that bad...

Well I just thought Germany wasn't good and fluid enough. Poor form of Müller and Boateng and the poor quality of Can and Höwedes and Draxler played a role, but mostly it's just Löw's fault. The tactical system was ridiculous yesterday, Can is no Vidal, nevermind Khedira. And Schweini should be moved on from the national team like he was from Bayern, but Löw of course doesn't have the balls for it.

Boateng's diagonal passes to Hector were out of this world in this game

I think it is poor judgement to critizice Loew for a game like this. It was simply not their night.

Well if he didn't instruct Höwedes to try no-hoper long balls in the first half with Schweini, Kroos, Kimmich and goddamn Boateng in the side, then Höwedes needs to be banned from the national team. Somehow doubt Höwedes was bright enough to come up with a new idea though...

I mean, maybe the midfield wasn't a mess because of Löw, maybe Can and Schweini were Effenberg-klasse in training. Again, I somehow doubt that.

I'm talking about his passing. Funnily enough, whoscored.com listed Höwedes as "0 tackles made". They filed that one under blocked shots, which is correct after seeing the super-slo-mo replay. But that was pretty epic - probably the two slowest guys on the pitchracing towards goal.
