I watched this whole game - quite an entertaining game, with a rather unfortunate, somewhat unnecessary, result for Germany. The skill level of the England players is slightly above what we're used to from England but, more importantly, they were hungrier for this win.

Germany have some interesting talent coming on. Can is a Titan, surely meriting a call up for the senior team straight after the summer tournament. Hoffman an Younnis look like exciting talents, well worth watching, and Knoche and Gunter look like they could reach the senior team too. Meyer and Leitner are probably very good, but they didn't shine tonight. And Bittencourt is skilful, but plays a slightly dirty, scrappy game, and will pick up too many cards, if he doesn't mature fast.

All in all, the summer tournament should be well worth watching.

Slightly different take from me I'm afraid. Apart from the two goals I thought Germany lacked quality in the final third, and that the 'defending' and lack of organisation in the defnence was a joke. For the three goals plus a few other England chances they were basically given a free shot at goal as the defence charged around without picking anyone up in the box. This was a team of English Championship (2nd division) players and I expected far more from the Bundesliga regulars who made up the majority of the German side

Agree about Bittencourt. He seems to have gone backwards since he was hailed as the next big talent a couple of years ago. Maybe a rumoured move to Dortmund would be good for him but then again maybe not the way they're going

Ter Stegen ate the 2nd goal, the ball rolled next to him as he even pulled his hands back. Germany had a few good minutes but for the most part wasn't incisive going forward but many times it is hard to figure out what motivation players have for a friendly. Definitely England wanted this win pretty bad while Germany looked indifferent.

English media are already going overboard about a 'bright future'. I remarked my mate leaving the ground that there is no point even discussing their potential until their playing regularly in the top flight like the Germans
