DFB Logo

Postby 1911 » Tue Sep 22, 2015 11:35 pm

Hey guys,
I'm just wondering about the history of this logo. I mean I guess you can make it out to be DFB. It looks like it's based on a Nordic symbol.

It's the symbol of the Allemani tribes if I am not mistaken.

You mean the valknut. I dont think it has anything to do with the alemanni.

I think Tedesco is right... I've googled it and found this:

It might be a coincidence, but they do look pretty similar.

It seems its only a graphical design of the DFB letters:

I didn't know about the resemblance to the that ancient symbol. As moi moi mentioned above that ancient symbol seems to be called VALKNUT.

Here is the Wikipedia article about it where it says says:
The Deutscher Fußball-Bund (DFB) has (since 1991) used a logo for the German national football team inspired by the unicursal form of the valknut
