Schmelzer had his chance, now he needs to go back to the bench. He looked out of place there.

That was a subpar performance (okay, to say that is even an understatement)...and I wouldn't be surprised if we lost that one by a mile! The more important thing though is we've got the three points!! =D>

You didn't miss much, unless you wanted to be really frustrated. You got spared from seeing a VERY weak NT performance.

It's almost always Mueller that wins penalties. And Lahm's addiction of back passing to Neuer almost cost him. :P

It's worrying because Schweini was the only key player missing, I think.

and Gomez. sadly, Klose hasn't been playing too well. would've expected him to net at least a goal during these past two matches.

Me too. He should have tried harder. Disappointing performance by Klose in both games.

Anyway, the really worrying thing last night was our midfield. It's a bit frustrating that Khedira+Kroos can't handle Austria's midfield. Our CBs were constantly exposed either because of the midfield or our fullbacks.

The other worrying thing was that we looked somehow uninspired upfront. Maybe some of you are right that saying that Loew has given what he has to give for NT and its time for a change.

In all fairness Klose is really HUNDRED YEARS OLD.

At least I am admitting this. Other users won't say a thing even if a specific someone misses 43526565 chances in the most critical game.

Not that any of the other kids in attack showed anything special yesterday.

I can't believe so many are asking to bench Schmelzer after this game. I totally disagree: he should never be called again to the National Team.

What, you mean the kids that were involved in the scoring as opposed to the striker who wasn't? :|

Though he did make a good run to open space for Reus to score that first goal.

No. He gave the assist to Reus to score, so he was pretty much involved with those kids :). The one made the run was Oezil.

It was a shot in the dark and he got lucky. Besides, Reus made that goal.

What was weird in that goal was: what was Oezil doing like 5 metres offside? If the keeper had scored it, he wouldn't have been able to score from the rebound.
