Lahm on the left, Boateng on the right. I don't know why Löw saw a need to change that after it worked so well during the EURO.

Sarcasm?

Not at all, as evidenced by the 1:2.

What exactly was worse about Boateng at LB during the EURO than Schmelzer today? Christ, even Bender was better defensively and despite his goal he wasn't exactly elite FB material during that game vs Greece.

Schmelzer is our only natural LB, so there's that #-o #-o #-o #-o
Jesus saves, but Kahn does it better ;)

Well, that was a weak perfomance. Main points:
1. Schmelzer should be no more than a backup.
2. Lahm should be given some time off. The guy needs to rest dammit!
3. Podolski is not a SS.
4. Muller should never be benched again. NEVER!

Seriously why not Pander? He isn't worse defensively but at least he got amazing crosses, long distance shots and set pieces of all kinds! As long as we play with a classical center forward there might even be beneficial cross Pander -> header Gomez / Klose situations.

that was a very, very poor performance by the NT. Against Faroe Islands it was just the finishing that sucked but today they completely lost control of midfield, which was even worse of a problem. If Austria can give us a hard time by just pressing our midfield imagine if we face Spain, the masters of pressing and possession? Truth is, Kroos and Khedira were very subpar at the roles given to them today and the only player that actually fits the bill for the NT in the middle of the park is Schweinsteiger, who can also play well in tight spaces.

I'm convinced that if Pander's career wouldn't have been marred by injuries he would've been our regular LB in the Nationaleft. Man, I'll never forget that goal against England.

We sucked
I dont know how we won

Lahm and schmelzer were by faaaaaar the worst
Worst fullback performance i have seen since Badstuber vs Krasic (and that was not even a fair one)
