Women’s football finest: the World XI

Goalkeeper:
Hope Solo (USA, free agent)

Defenders:
Leonie Maier (Germany, FC Bayern Munich)
Nilla Fischer (Sweden, VfL Wolfsburg)
Wendie Renard (France, Olympique Lyonnais)
Ali Krieger (USA, Orlando Pride)

Midfielders:
Dzsenifer Marozsan (Germany, Olympique Lyonnais)
Carli Lloyd (USA, Manchester City)
Marta (Brazil, FC Rosengard)

Attackers:
Alex Morgan (USA, Olympique Lyonnais)
Ada Hegerberg (Norway, Olympique Lyonnais)
Eugenie Le Sommer (France, Olympique Lyonnais)

Both Behringer and Däbritz deserved it more than Marozsan, who was injured last year, also considering both did better than her in Rio. in addition,
Däbritz couldn't make this short list, whereas she was in top 10 shortlist in Fifa best player award.it's weird. l can understand Miedema with the lack of int. success because of our CL failure last year and her national team.

shame that the girls in the forum rarely participate in this thread...
Have a look at the goal I posted prior to this post.
It was scored by the local team I support...

??

Why are you specifically mentioning the women on this forum?

Great goal!

VI just published a great article about how much the lives of the Dutch NT girls changes bc of the Euros win. Some of them
finally managed to get sponsors for basic things like shoes and gloves. It's incredible that they didn't even have that yet.

Bit sad to see the media attention has waned a little...the girls have a quali this week, so we'll see how much that gets picked up by the media.

I think you're mixing a few things up here Women's football isn't sth women specifically are (or should be) interested in. Men and women should value is equally. One could even argue men should be more interested if you use the reverse "girls only watch for the hot players" logic

I'm just not very in the loop with the women's game, apart from the Dutch NT.

Girls don’t look good in those kinds of shorts though

This is where I always clash with feminists... Not that I don’t value their competitive effort - but I love this match for athleticism, physicality and pace - and I‘m afraid in that regard women are less capable by nature and thus less entertaining... Sorry Roonzil

Roonzil, the way lesbians look, in the eyes of a horny male, is far superior to the average lesbians still very pervasive to the sport. If you want to watch a number of women for some kind of sexual arousal you may as well watch porn. I refuse to believe that men watching women's football for sexual purposes is a common theme.

True regarding the physical aspect of the game but sometimes the technique is great and makes up for it. What sucks big time is women goalkeepers. They are terrible.

No worries, women's football is a different game. Personally I'd prefer it if the pitch was smaller for example, exactly to deal with the pace and physical deficiency. I like to watch it occasionally, but I'm not a fan, exactly for the reasons you mentioned.
