Schmidt is also failing, but I don't recall him being mentioned as a potential Pep successor.

Only Klopp and Tuchel remain standing.

But if Favre wins the french league with Nice his reputation is all but restored and I would still want him to manage bayern in the future.....but that just me

When I say he damaged his reputation I don't mean the results in his last few games at Gladbach, I mean the way he dumped them without giving time to look for a replacement. He left in a very unprofessional fashion (or at least that's what came across from the management's comments at that time, which seemed sincere). That won't be erased by winning the league in France.

That's a far different stance they had with someone like Magath for example, letting him go on for like forever despite a run of embarrassing results, inhuman training methods and wasted transfer budgets.

For me he was a good sign, his first season was good. He made a good combination with Lucio, but after that first season, the injuries got him and affect his continuity in bayern.
Super-Bayern! Super-Bayern! Hey! Hey!

He played enough to concede two (controversial) penalties against Inzaghi.

Also, wasn't he also the guy who got sent off in his debut game in the opening match of the season against Hamburg IIRC?

How's Gomez doing with Wolfsburg?

I've never been a huge fan of him but I wouldn't mind to see him back as a backup striker. He's probably more interested in a starting role in a medium club though

Even if they manage to focus on youth, they still effectively won't have the money to retain their kids, and they will end up being a feeder club for bigger clubs.
