Nobody will convince me that this is not the work of an insider paid by competition...
VW has been #1 in the market for years now toppling Toyota in the process...

Not in the US apparently. I heard on Bloomberg news that they were lagging far behind other automakers and that's why they were trying to slash a few dollars on their models by not investing in cleaner systems.

Could be that too...

From this incident I've learned the Americans care more to such detail for automobiles than what they do when they export food...

Can't care TOO much about cars, as it's taken us 10 years to find the problem

Had I known VW was going to such effort to bring me an affordable car, I wouldn't have purchased my Toyota.

It seems that ALL car constructors in the world cheat on emissions tests, and it's hardly a secret according to the people working in this industry.

The big question is whether Winterkorn will be able to retain his post. His football enthusiasm hasn't been unanimously supported by other senior managers. His successor is unlikely to be as massive a football fan as he is. If he has to step down, this might have consequences not only for VfL Wolfsburg. VW and subsidiaries are shareholders at Ingolstadt, too, and have sponsoring contracts with 13 other first and second division clubs, as well as the DFB.

Well... The way I see it they can either find someone to replace him in our board or sell their shares back to us and accept a HUGE deficit... Because I simply cannot imagine a pro like Uli not considering situations like these might come up... And then to put it in the contract, of course...
Thanks for nothing, :pep: !!

Sorry but what does Uli have to do with emission tests again?

As I understand whoever replaces Winterkorn at VW will be irrespective of his place at Bayern; position which he (Winterkorn) is keeping since his appointment was not as Audi shareholder but rather by his own merits. Or something along those lines.

Well you do know that Audi has 9 point something percent of shares in our club, right? Now, Audi is a 100% subsidiary of Volkswagen whose chairman used to be Winterkorn... So far so good... The contract was made back in 2009 - and guess who was in charge back then in Munich? ;)
Now Winterkorn has resigned and this may have effects on him being a part of our board... And on the shares they're holding... And I'm pretty sure that Uli was well aware something like this could happen and therefore took precautions and measures accordingly in said contract...
Thanks for nothing, :pep: !!
