Heidel has done well. Konoplyanka and Stambouli are excellent additions to the squad and can make the starting XI immediately. Embolo may take some time but he will be excellent eventually. Bentaleb is a big question mark, we will see if he can find back to his old form after his injuries. It's a shame about Coke's injury, he would have solved their fullback issues.

All in all it is an exciting time for Schalke. Draxler and Sané were always going to be sold eventually, but with Meyer, Goretzka and Geis they have exciting talent complemented by a number of experienced players (Stambouli was the captain of the Montpellier surprise Champions a few years ago) and Coke was Sevilla's captain during their repeated EL titles. Add Huntelaar and Höwedes to that and it's a really good mix of young and old.

Yeah I'm excited to see Schalke and Dortmund face off this year. They both acquired insane amounts of talented youths this season. I think the bundesliga is going to have some amazing years coming up starting with this season

Finally! =D> It was about time, specially after the EL victory this Thursday. :) Heidel and Weinzierl need time to settle down and I hope they'll succeed, especially the latter.

Happy for Schalke; about time they got it together. Their team(on paper) is way to good to be floating around near the bottom.

I'd rather have Schalke playing European matches than Hertha or Cologne; they will just end up embarrassing themselves.

Good for Weinzierl!

I didn't watch but probably it's just that they're finally living up to their potential, especially after Thursday. They have a great team.

For us they're probably too far behind already... we might not even drop another 13 points. But good that Gladbach also dropped points this weekend. :coffee:

Schubert did them a favour by subbing out Vestergaard at half time. Gladbach were on course for a win until that time...
