The confusion/funny part is that Augsburg paid Sunderland money for a 6 month contract, and tomorrow Sunderland can sign a contract with him and get him back on a free in summer.

English clubs can't do that, IIRC.

Apparently Ji has signed a pre-contract with Dortmund starting June 2014.

Augsburg is destroying Werder. Christ, they might just finish top half of the table this year.

Im quite surprised myself, i can see them getting a Europa league spot. When was the last time two Bavarian clubs were in European completion?

This is the table at the moment:
Image

Lets say that they will loose their final game and Dortmund will win their game, rising to the 6th spot themselves.
As I've understood the winner of the DFB-pokal gets a spot in the EL, but Wolfsburg have allready qualified to CL, so that would go to Dortmund anyways.
So my question is that can they get an EL qualif. spot, when they finish the season at 7th spot?

Augsburg is almost mathematically in Europe. They have a GD of -2 and Bremen have a GD of -14. Therefore it's very unrealistic that Bremen will overtake Augsburg. If only BVB overtakes Augsburg, it's not a problem for Augsburg, they would still qualify for Europe whatever happens in the DFB Pokal final.

The rules for EL are missing something. Basic rule is Cup winner (CW)+5-th+6-th team. If CW qualifies for CL them 7-th team goes to EL.
Now if Wolfsburg wins there is no problem but what happens when Borussia wins? Then for sure BVB and Schalke are in but what happens with Augsburg if BVB takes 6-th position. Rules don't say that 7-th team, in this case Augsburg, takes the spot in EL. Funny

Seven teams go in the European competitions next season. Either way, Dortmund win Pokal, still goes everyone beyond 7th position. Dortmund lose this match and remain on 7th spot, they go again.

In the rules there is nothing about seven teams. Rules are like a law and must be executed to the letter. In the first case above they specified procedure
and there is 7-th team. In second case there is no procedure specified and if they execute basic rule CW+5-th+6-th that means Borussia takes 2 spots: CW and the 6-th. Even in the Bundesliga site you can see only 6 teams going into European competition because they don't know which case will apply. But if you are sure that's good to have 7 teams in European competition.

Can't see tweet? Click here!

Despite rumors that he would be moving to Schalke, Weinzierl will be staying with Augsburg!

Oh good. I was afraid he would leave and Augsburg would crash out of Europa League and potentially bundesliga.
