Just wondering if anyone has watched Dortmund's progress during preseason and has any thoughts on it? For example:
-Impression of Tuchel so far?
-Their transfers
--out (Immobile, etc)
--in (Weigl)
--lack thereof (striker)
--or to come (Reus out soon?)

I must admit I would prefer BVB to be a strong challenger this year (even if BVB is a fan for wanna-be hipsters ;)). Don't know how strong Wolfsburg are going to prove to be, since easier to be the surprise challenge than have consistent expected performance.

I ask because my Bundesliga podcast (only reason I know what happens outside of Bayern) is failing me now during the summer!

I refuse also to use Bleacher Report as a source of knowledge.

I saw Dortmund-Juve. They're looking good. Tuchel got them back their will. Reus scored a fantastic goal in which he left IIRC Chiellini on his back (I got my payback against Juventini for the constant "Boateng is crap" talk after the incident with Messi, BTW :D). They are playing nice football again. I think they still have the striker issue nevertheless, Aubemayang doesn't convince me and they have proven to be very wasteful with their chances on goal. Overall I'd say that by retaining Reus, Gündogan and Hummels, plus Kagawa reemerging, Bürki acquisition and Sokratis they've got themselves a very strong squad, and its just up to Tuchel to make them work. They still have to figure out whether to phase out Pizsek and Schmelzer, but other than that, Tuchel has done a fine job.

Hummels, Reus and Gündogan are, of course, borderline leaving them. I think they will stay or leave depending of how good Tuchel does. If he gets them a second place in BuLi, they might stay a little longer.

Played an amazing game against Juve. Here's a copy with an English commentary.

Tuchel's been busy clearing the dung out there, judging from reports. Future's looking bright.

They still need a proper striker from what I've read in the last few days in German media.

Highlights:

Also, needs to be said:

1. that was Juves first preseason game.
2. Buffon was great, otherwise it could have been a wider margin.
3. Hoffmann was the most wasteful
4. Mkitaryan is looking good.
5. BVB doesn't have CL football so they can afford to postpone better signings for next season, they're surely going to end in the top 4 and should easily win the EL if they set themselves for it.
6. Tuchel is still experimenting a lot with different formations and giving every player a chance to show themselves.

I had many other things to do and I wasn't really focusing on football lately. First Dortmund match Im going to watch this season is the Thursday Europa League game. I hope to see some good football from my team.

Well, I did watch the goals though. :D It was a nice play from Reus but lately Ive actually become critical of him. If he wants to win titles in Dortmund he needs to step up in games that really matter, not shine in test matches or German Supercup games.

Apparently Aubameyang has extended his contract with BVB until 2020.
