The rule says: in case the domestic cup winner qualify to champions league, spot will be given to the highest placed team in the league which have not yet qualified for European competitions.

This apply to Dortmund.

Dortmund want a new No.1 Goalkeeper and are interested in:

1) Roman Bürki (SC Freiburg) who can apparently leave for 4.5 million euros

2) Timo Horn (1.FC Koeln) who has a release clause of 9 million euros
===========
Both are very very good young Goalkeepers , Roman Buerki -who according to Transfermarkt.de was the best GK in the bundesliga - is Top Quality and for this Price a STEAL

Timo Horn is only 22 years ago , has sometimes occasional mistakes but also some Super saves and kept many clean sheets this season , 9 million euros is a very good price , but cant really beat the 4.5 million Buerki price

Bürki would be ideal for them, but for some reason I can't picture them acquiring him.

The price is good
Freiburg have relegated and announced that 9 or 10 players will be leaving

BVB are looking for a GK
Europa league and bundesliga are faaaaaaaar better than 2.Bundesliga

Cant see anything against this deal

If they are looking for a new GK that means Weiderfeller is out
If Weidenfeller comes here, Pep & Sammer have gone nuts

Burki looked very impressive this season, not a bad buy at all for BVB!

Super signing
The GK spot was a problem last season...Bürki is a super GK and will help them a lot

So what positions Dortmund still has to fill? Left-back, midfielder (Geis), striker?
Kraft
Lahm, Hummels, Badstuber, Contento
Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Can
Schöpf, Müller, Alaba

I was wrong, I was wrong!! I think he's a great acquisition for them... I suppose I thought "nah, they won't buy him" as I figured they'd buy another, more high-profile keeper from another BL team, such as Karius from Mainz (the Tuchel connection). In any case, I think he'll do great there.

I don't think so. Even Freiburg fans agree that he is too good to play 2. Bundesliga.
