Its not a rule dude but its just common sense to let the team get ready to defend. Ref weakend our defence by his actions, doesnt matter if he could do it or not. So if we have to pick a twat its either the ref or you quaazi.

Next time when the player is lying on the ground and the team kicks the ball away maybe the rivals should just not give the ball back because they dont actually HAVE to do it. Please quaazi, get your shit together.

So basically your gripe is that the referee didn't make a decision which has no basis in any ruleset, but would favour your team?

No, the decision would favour NO ONE. The decision he actually made favoured Napoli.

I'm with Borusse on this one. Sorry quaazi, but even the Italian commentator on Italia 1 said that it was unfair and amateurish by the referee and that Dortmund/Klopp had every right to feel hard done by it. Now when the Italians themselves (who are obviously going to be very biased in favour of Napoli) admit that, then there's really no shred of doubt left.

Hey, I didn't watch the game, I'm going on how Borusse explained the situation.

In football there's some things that, despite not being documented it's generally accepted behaviour by referees.

For example, if time's up and a player is 1 on 1 against the goalkeeper, the referee can whistle the end of the match. This is what happened to Olic vs Juventus in 2010 and we were pretty incensed about it. But the referee had every right to, by the book.

Also some things are in the book but are not practised. For example, if during a penalty any player moves inside the box before the penalty is given, the penalty should be retaken no matter whether it was scored or not. If you look at a number of penalties you'll realise that it's actually rare for NO player (other than the keeper and the taker of course) to move inside the box before the penalty kick has been given. I saw a video on YouTube once and the referee ordered the penalty to be retaken some six times until finally the player missed but nobody had moved inside the box so he didn't order a retake.

I don't know why you guys are blaming the 4th referee. All he did was ask the doc to cover Subotić's face better; apparently he was still showing blood somewhere.

Anyhow apparently they just found a bunch of things that were missing from the game vs Napoli and they are shipping them back to Dortmund:

1. Klopp's relaxing cake (Turns out he was given some dessert with water to calm down after the send off. It worked wonders: Napoli's caretaker who sat next to him for the rest of the match said he never met a nicer guy before... Fourth referee begs to disagree)
2. Langerak's teeth. (This is really cruel: The Australian reserve keeper hit the post really bad while trying to stop Napoli's second goal. So bad he lost a couple of teeth in the process. :? )
3. Weindenfeller's distance control meter. (The box is not enough! he says. Referee still thinks otherwise.)
4. Schmelzer's jumping shoes. (I thought I had them on - I thought I had them on. Dude, why didn't you cover Higuain? I thought I had them on! I thought I had them on!)

They shouldn't kick the ball out and the team shouldn't return it. Yous argument here is a load of crap.
