So this means Son will directly take over Schürrle's inside forward spot, with Kiessling still up front?

That actually seems like a really damn good partnership. I wonder what price they got Son for.

oh and HAR HAR THEY BOUGHT A KEY PLAYER FROM A RIVAL WORST CLUB EVER

Not funny for Leverkusen.
Kraft
Lahm, Hummels, Badstuber, Contento
Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Can
Schöpf, Müller, Alaba

What do you mean?

They got Son for Schürrle who underperformed for most part of his 2 year stay and still got an additional € 12m from the Schürrle transfer to spend.

That's a great deal of business for Leverkusen.

They can now easily spend another € 30m on a CB, a RB and another offensive player. Since they also got € 6.5m for Carvajal from Real Madrid and at least €10m for the CL group phase.

I agree. Son + 12M for Schurrle seems a pretty decent piece of business for me. The former is as much as capable as the latter as we've seen this season.

I think they want Montoya to replace Carvajal.

Leverkusen is really doing some major reconstruction of the team.

Kadlec to Fenerbahce for € 5m.

Good deal considering he lost his starting spot to Boenisch last season and they have this young Greek talent coming up on the position.

I'll say this much for Leverkusen, they've got a real statement of intent when it comes to moving their team forward: they don't let themselves be bullied by bigger teams, as is shown by the fact they kept Schurrle as long as they wanted and outright told us where to go when it came to Bender.
Carvahal is obviously a different story, but he's different- they couldn't have done anything about it.
I just think if they really want to go and become great, that last final piece needed will be a new manager.
Sascha Lewandowski is a good, stable manager, a solid 7/10. But if they want to move forward, I think they might need an 8/10.

Lewandowski never was really their manager. He was just the guy with the license until Hyppiä had his pro-license.

Hyppiä remains the coach while Lewandowski is no longer part of the staff.

Don't know what to make of this. He hasn't even been playing in the Serie A.

I've just read that he is an U21 int.
W.Bremen also signed or are due to sign another iatalian from Inter - Calderola (U21 Int)

I can tell you this that Inter fans are cursing Branca everywhere online for letting him go.
First Coutinho and then Donati. He's 23 and has potential to be a future star according to them. Also, he's been praised for his U21 performances. And he's Italian, so that makes it even harder for Inter fans to understand.
He must have been bought for less than 5 and maybe Leverkusen are on the better side of the deal seeing the way Inter handled Coutinho.

Plus it was high time Leverkusen bought someone permanently.

Sounds like their scouts know what they're doing then. We'll see. :)

Yup, Schürrle is officially at Chelski now.

I am really interested in seeing how Leverkusen will perform next season. Their 4-3-3 did wonders this year, but losing personnel in Carvajal and Schürrle might end up biting them in the ass. Not that Son isn't a great player, of course.
