It's about time, but Lewandowski won't do anything better than him.

It really is his level. His Everton was in many ways what BL are trying to become, a tough, hard to beat team with limited upside. They are too small a club to really aim at something more than regular CL appearances, reaching the knock out stage, and sometimes a shot at the BuLi title.

It's offical: Salzburg's coach Roger Schmidt will be a new Leverkusen coach, contract signed till 2016. [source]

Very, very interesting coach, but not good club for him in my opinion.

Schmidt likes to play very strong, fast and attractive football. The article says that he is excellent motivator, as well.

He has counquered Austrian league like a piece of cake and become the earliest Austrian champion ever and if I'm not mistaken the earliest domestic champion in Europe in 2013/2014.

Surprised Bayern in friendly match this January during the winter break with strong performance, smashed Ajax in both EL matches like somekind of little club which came from CL.

Very interesting coach, yet I think he has deserved to lead far better and ambitious team than Leverkusen. Hope he'll have success in his coaching career, though. I want to see some younger candidates for German NT in future and for coaching Bayern after Guardiola. :P

Maybe he will lead Leverkusen to better results.

Lets just say it was a great choice for Leverkusen but decent at most for Schmidt.

What he can only do is with somekind of miracle do the same what Klopp did when he arrived in 2008 and nothing else.

Bayer AG have lack of ambitions for since Rainer Calmund left position of Leverkusen manager. Thanks to Jupp they stand very high in German football, otherwise, they would desperately fight for 5th-6th positions and dream about 4th place and places above the 4th.

We'll see what is Schmidt consisted of.

Well as much as that is true those two players would be much more useful for Leverkusen than for two relegation-battling clubs, which I hope both go down.

I think they'll do better next year in Buli and also CL. At least the coach has prior experience of winning and participating in EL.
Let's hope he can bring 1-2 guys from Salzburg. That Soriano guy, sure they could use him.

Did anyone see the Julian Brandt assist vs. Dortmund? Absolute class, and to think that I'm older than him... What am I doing with my life? #-o

Something that happened a few days ago and I forgot to write about is that Leverkusen took the decision to disband the Bayer Leverkusen II squad (at the end of the season), because they think that playing in the fourth-tier Regionalliga West is not a good preparation for the Bundesliga, and from now on they will focus more on loaning out their players to other clubs.

Kießling out with a torn hamstring. Just the excuse Loew needed to keep him up of the World Cup squad.
