Total amount of money spent on wages in 2012-13 and estimate for 2013-14:

Bayern München: € 160-170m
Borussia Dortmund: € 80-100m
Schalke04: € 80-90m
Vfl Wolfsburg: € 70-75m
Hamburger SV: € 60-65m
Borussia Mönchengladbach: € 50-60m and they spent much more on the transfer market
Bayer04 Leverkusen: € 50-55m

Still Bayer04 Leverkusen finished 3rd only one point behind Borussia Dortmund and in-front of Schalke, Wolfsburg and all the other clubs with similar financial means like Hamburg and Gladbach.

I think he's quite correct with his statement.

I cannot understand from where the Ita journalists get such news:

Leverkusen are interested in G.Ilner from Napoli and can present an offer next Jan :|

Why would they do that, he cant play in UCL if they manage to qualify somehow.

For me it doesn't make sense either... and Ilner is (was) considered as first choice at Napoli...

Thats what Bild are reporting, no official word from the clubs. If its true then they got some of the most talent U19s coming out fo Germany in Otzunali, Milik and possibly Brandt

They can't officially announce it prior to January 1st but it seems like he's set on a move to Leverkusen.

However it won't be that easy to get past Sidney Sam and Heung-Min Son. They are no push-overs. I think he should have tried his luck at Wolfsburg under Hecking's guidance. Seems like the lad's got quite the attitude.

What kind of manager is Sami? I know he only has a limited say in transfers, can anyone shed light on how much consulting is done with him or an impression of the kind of eye he and his DoF have for talent? What formation are they playing, standout players, etc?

Basically, can someone give me a "Leverkusen under Hyypia for Dummies"
