Who should replace Ribery in the near future?

Postby ottackon » Fri Jan 30, 2015 3:02 pm

It is clear that the best days of Ribery are now behind him, then we are inclined to ask the question of his succession.
So who are the best left wingers able to take his place and fit well into the team?
I will assume that a new recruit for this position should not exceed 25-26 years.
The choice seems to be rather limited for top wingers:

- Neymar, 22 yo, 80 Mill. € (Market Value)
- Reus, 25 yo, 50 Mill. €
- Hazard, 24 yo, 48 Mill. €
- Griezmann, 23 yo, 35 Mill. €
- Draxler, 21 yo, 30 Mill. €

Honorable mention : Lorenzo Insigne, Jesé, Heung-Min Son, Adem Ljajic, Memphis Depay, Adnan Januzaj.

Earlier on I've mentioned Koke... I used to think that he is more a cm but actually he can play on the wing...
However my preferred one is Hazard

Hazard... for me. Be aware that a transfer in that department would probably not threaten only Ribs. We would have one too many super-sub.

Absolutely best decision should be invent some machine to make Ribery younger and put him again in squad :D

But I prefer Hazard or french for french change = Griezmann.

I am a fan of Thauvin as well but I think his preference would be on the RW considering he is a lefty. Griezmann seems to also be a quality wise man as well.

His contract expires in 2017... Chelsea want him to renew the contract this year, but he haven't signed anything yet. I believe that they'd be ready to sell him for a good sum... I'm sure he's not the Mou type of player, while Abramovich has a different view on football, we just have to convince the oligarch owner to let him go. :P

This summer --> Hazard
2016 --> Hazard or Griezmann
I think Antoine still needs some time before he can make a big impact at Bayern, he's just now really settling in and performing well at A. Madrid

Edit: Draxler would be a great signing too, but who knows if/when he will reach his best again and improve beyond that..

How about we don't sign anyone as Ribery's replacement?

We have Bernat, Alaba, Goetze, Robben and Mueller who can play on the left wing. Then there's some promising youngsters coming through as well.

Also the fact that we really don't have a "left wing" as things stand, but a bunch of attacking players doing their thing all across the pitch.
The ideal team

Why hasn't Depay been mention more? One he has an awesome first name (have a thing for first names that are the same as US cities (kinda want to name my son Houston)) and two the times I have watched him play he has been creative and fast. Above all I would love to see Hazard in a Bayern jersey.
