LOL LOL LOL. Comparing 98 France to this one
And what does an organizing a tournament have in common with the strength of the team that hosts it?
Just look at Brazil last year, for God's sake. And that Brazil is 2 classes above this France team.

Jeez, you've hit rock bottom in your "facts".

You are arguing just for the sake of it. France clearly has one of the 3 best squads in Europe.

And Belgium, Germany, Spain? Belgium is world's number 1 FFS

So that "clearly" you wrote fades out quickly. And not even mentioning Italy and England. Even Poland & Austria showed they can mess in these qualifications.

But why can't it be France?

I've watched most of France games since Deschamps was appointed, and they are clearly not a finished product. Lots of good players but not a great team yet.
The same goes for Belgium.

But he's excluding France in particular... for me it can be any of the NT mentioned, this Euro is hard to predict, maybe there'll be a 'Greece' again. :P

I clearly said one of the 3 best squads, not one of the 3 best teams. France is up there with Germany, Spain and maybe Belgium (you've got a point) in squad wise. The others aren't. Squad not team. There is a difference.

They are probably the 4th strongest squad out there. Much stronger than any English team.

I agree that they are 4th strongest squad but I don't think they'll be able to surpass us or the two Spanish clubs. I think they are on a slightly lower level, but not by much

fifa rankings does not imply that whoever is @ #1 is the best. At most of this year the #1 was occupied by a team who lost 2 finals in space of 12 months... Copa America and the WC.
However I do agree Belgium are good squad too...

Instead of looking at the irrelevant FIFA rankings, you should watch the matches, and this Belgium team didn't put in any great performance on the pitch against a decent national team so far.

FRANCE:
If they develop they could emulate the 98 squad..

Bench:Mandanda,Martial,Coman,Giroud,Zouma,Evra,Sagna,Cabaye
Why can't this team do it?

Also if Germany don't win it I would love England to win it..before you laugh remember that they won all 10 qualifiers..NEVER EASY..

BENCH:Foster,Kane,Jagielka,Chamberlain,Milner,CarrickJones,Cahill

I agree that France has a decent shout - most of their team is just coming into their mature days - but England? Give me a break. :D they always do well in qualifiers (except that time they didn't) only to crash out later. That roster you've drawn up will be torn to pieces by most sides - just way, way too fragile, no balance at all. Frankly these days I think the once-much maligned duo of Henderson and Milner will be instrumental to England's hopes of achieving anything - two hard working yet smart players that can tie together a random collection of average talent like Walcott, Rooney and Sterling.
The ideal team

I know its hard for England but I am really counting on Ross Barkley to be the gascoigne this time!

Well, Kloppo isn't wasting too much time turning Liverpool into a Dortmund clone.
