Well he is too impulsive, a captain should also know how to calm down others

I think he's the only Bayern player who plays with his heart, every single match. He never gives up. He's aggressive and determined, and he can shake up a team when needed. He's got all the attributes one would want from a captain, but he's not blonde nor has he been promoted from the youths so he's not even being considered.

Give me a break

Nope he doesn't...
From our foreigners:
Robben - Fluent
Javi - near fluent
Ribery - near fluent
Alonso - adequate
Lewy - adequate
Thiago - near adequate
Bernat - ok
Vidal/Costa/Coman/Renato - nothing in recent outings to indicate any knowledge of German besides the basics.

Lewy not fluent?
I don't thing Thiago is that confident as last time we played VfL in the Pokal when asked about Lahm he reverted to english

Neuer is the captain of the DNM, therefore, he must be Bayern's captain.

Not speaking German is big minus for Vidal IMO. Otherwise he would be great as a captain. A great character and a true warrior.

Whaaaaaaaat? He WAS impulsive way back, he is WAY WAY calmed down lately. Especially since he is at Bayern. Id rather say Bernat is more impulsive than him.
Being aggresive doesnt mean to be impulsive, I have yet to see him in a Bayern shirt fighting with opponents or referees. Also, he is breaking up fights and separating the players... He's so much improved in that aspect since his Bayer days (cause we, the Bundes fans know him at Bayer at the first place as the Chilean fighting guy).

He has 4 yellow cards in 25 matches this season and had 9 yellow cards in 48 matches last season.
A quick check on the 2012/13 season (with Juve) - he had 16 yellow cards in 45 matches.

For a SOUTH AMERICAN player in his position 13 yellow cards in 73 matches at Bayern is awesome. Thats like a yellow card every 5,5 games.

Kahn? Effenberg? Mark van Bommel? Should I start naming captains that were far more impulsive than Vidal...

Vidal as a captain? The same Vidal who chose 'bigger' Juventus instead of Bayern in summer 2012 after he lied to Jupp who helped him a lot in his career while Hummels can't because of his negative comments in 2011 and 2012 pointed towards Bayern?

Heh...

Lewy sounds pretty fluent in German, but if you pay attention to his interviews you'll discover he always uses the same words and sentences. I can draw you a typical Lewy interview right now. Javi on the other hand seems to use the language more freely.

With Thiago it's mostly indeed a confidence thing. He's said in interviews that he's scared he'll say sth that can be twisted into sth else bc of his lack of knowledge of the language.
