Well yes but the price of players is going up because the clubs' income is increasing. With the income always on the up, the price needed for such a change becomes RELATIVELY cheaper each season.

By the way, in my experience at the Allianz Arena those seats were uncomfortable and too close together.

They're effectively using the little space they have...
In m experience, that's the case basically everywhere...
Plus: You shouldn't sit anyways...

I think I was just unlucky. The fairly-obese woman sitting between her fairly-obese husband and myself meant that portions of her body fat extruded directly over my seat, leaving me with a lower-than-average space.

Also, when you're in the seating areas you should sit. It's respectful to the people behind you, who in my case were elderly and I assumed would rather watch the match than my back.

how many seats are there, 75,000? I guess it's less due to standing areas, so let's say like 65,000. Let's say seats are 100 euros a piece... 6.5 million Euros on the low side to replace them all... worth it?

You make me wonder if there's any correlation between attractive seats and income from people visiting. The red seats might not be that important in-game for a stadium that's always full up but they're a great photo opportunity. The stadiums I've visited all had something special about their seats and EVERYONE takes photos with them. I wonder whether they might increase the number of people doing the tour, especially because the Allianz Arena (museum aside) is probably more attractive on the outside than the inside for a non-fan.

Really? I've always considered the AA seats to be fairly comfortable in comparison to quite a few other stadiums. Hannover being the worst, but also Dortmund, Ajax and Heerenveen have crappy weak and tight seats. Not to mention when you have some proper "manspreading" dicks next to you. Dude, don't do that in public spaces...<_<

Roonzil brings an interesting point forward which is the opposite of nm's post: what good is a team with 100 million a pop transfers and an arena that is falling down to pieces (here's looking at you Madrid...)

Different color seats sure are difficult to justify at hindsight but there are creative solutions to these situations: There should be a handful of suppliers who would gladly sit down at the negotiating table to provide their products at affordable deals for a piece of the sponsorship pie. I'm not sure Poltrona applies but surely Recaro or Siemmens could do.

100 euros for putting a seat on Allianz. What seat that could be, a Recaro sports one? Hilarious.

Just drop red paint from an airtanker plane like they do for forest fires and be done with it.

the seats at the National Stad of Malta cost somwhere between 40-50 Eur ... so the ones at the Allianz might as well cost how much nm said.
p.s nm your nick frustrates me ( I hate numbers)

gotta change my username at some point 8) is there a way to do that?

i think our friend Zozon forgets that material cost is only part of the big picture... there are also labor and management costs (I included that in my 100 euro figure, but could be more or less)

Price wise...how much were those new big TV screens? Pretty sure we spend millions on upgrades every year, and we'll budget them accordingly
