Future Bayern Midfield

Postby Firefox1234 » Thu Feb 19, 2015 3:40 pm

Since the Ribery replacement talk has started who do people see being Bayern's future midfield? Schweinstiger and Alonso are in their twilight years so changes will come sooner than we think.

So far im convinced Thiago can take up the mantle if he can stay healthy, but im 50/50 on Hojberg at the moment but maybe we can snag Gundogan on the cheap in the future. What are people's thoughts?

I really like Erikson, but don't know how he would do at Bayern. Also one can dream, but Pogba.

Eriksen seems to be more of a CAM, I was about to mention Pogba but assuming he goes for upwards of €50m+ I didn't wanna talk like this was FM

I think midfield we are still good for a number of years.

We have at least these young players:
- Rode
- Martinez
- Hojbjerg
- Gaudino
- Thiago

I know we have young players but out of all of them(assuming Martinez is gonna be used as a CB)only Thiago has shown he can play at a very high level. We are yet to see how the rest fair against the best teams in the world.

I think that is unfair to begin to judge Hojbjerg and Gaudinho against Thiago. I can really see great coming from both Guadinho and Hojbjerg in very different ways. Rode on the other hand is a work horse and I think that is important role in Bayern's squad.

I have huge faith in Højbejrg and (a bit less) Gaudino. Other than them, Gündogan I regard as a truly top midfielder (at least equal to Pogba) but I'd rather not get any players from Dortmund or Wolfsburg (the wellbeing of the Buli is Bayern's wellbeing in the long term) unless they are going to leave anyway. Instead, I think our management should keep an eye on Kramer next season and see how he turns up. Also Can. I haven't given up on him yet [PENSIVE FACE]

I don't see what is unfair about it? Unlike Thiago both Hojberg and Gaudino have not been tested against top teams in Europe as of yet. Until I see how Hojberg and Gaudino fairs against the likes of R.Madrid and other top UCL teams I'll keep my views on him close to the chest.

Hojbjerg got to compete against City no? He did ok there but there's some distance for him to go from talented midfielder with potential to a top midfielder like Schweinsteiger. Gaudino is one for way down the line.

Your right he was pretty good against Man C and we were down to 10 men for most of it but I still need a little more if im gonna believe he will be Bayern's midfield general in the foreseeable future. If I could have my way I would target Pogba.(Please don't crucify me @Ottomeister)He is in my opinion a Yaya Toure 3.0. You could argue that money should be spent find a replacement for Ribs but that depends on how much the coaching staff rates guys like Hojberg, Gaudino, Kurt, etc....

Martinez, Alaba, Thiago definitely. Rode has shown he'll probably make it. I'm confident in Gaudino and Hojbjerg but I doubt both will play for us for a long time. We'll see new faces too for sure.

Regarding wingers... We'll probably have to buy new guys. Shaqiri unfortunately failed under Guardiola.

Watching Kroos play yesterday really made me scratch my head about selling him. He was RM's best player yesterday. Hopefully our youngsters do come good cause Xabi and Schweinstiger won't be here forvever.

Martinez, Alaba and Thiago if he can stay healthy.. And then we have Hojbjerg and Rode who could surprise in the future. But not a new player in my sight atm.

And when it comes to Kroos.. wasnt that hard to be the best, RM was pretty weak...
