That's what I see after Guardiola leaves us. Maybe Draxler, Meyer or eventually Hazard, Griezmann... Who knows who'll come out. Even Emre Can could return or we decide to buy Kramer.

But I'd like to see Kurt developing into our new superb winger/left midfielder so we only would search for the other side.

I have full faith that under Schweini's tutelage, Rode will flourish into one hell of a midfielder, he's got heart and aggression, and those traits can't be taught.

Draxler is a no go.. He is nothing in my eyes, maybe thats a bit harsch, but i meant it in the way as'' he has nothing special tbh, i am not impressed with him at all..

I was really hoping Rode to get more minutes over Alonso. He would have been perfect to play that lone DM role in my opinion, since Xabi was getting beat all day yesterday.

I don't think Rode is a defensive midfielder. These days you can't have an aggressive, "charging" midfielder in that defensive spot - it leaves too much room to exploit. He, I think, is far better in a doppelsechs next to a slightly more creative player, so that when he closes down attackers, his partner will be there to mop up the open space. So no, I don't see him as a lone defensive midfielder, at least. Besides, we have Martinez for that role.

Kovacic would be top quality and relatively cheap!

He needs a proper club and a mentor. Imagine when his pal Brozović has signed this winter and kicked him out of first XI in one match.

I don't know, Mateo is currently the most talented Croatian player in my opinion. He's been struggling in Inter who haven't been great so far despite all talents, coaches, etc. Kovačić is #10, but fits also on #8. #6 is only good when he's playing with one like Martinez or Rode near him.

Apparently, FC Bayern were after Kovačić 4.5 years ago. [source]

I hope Bayern haven't forgotten about Gundogan, he only signed a two year deal and im sure a plethora of clubs will still be in for him next season since he has come good again.

He is a CAM/LW, he doesn't play deep in the midfield like Schweinstiger and Xabi.

Besides I suspect he'll be gone before them, though I'm hoping he'll prove me wrong.
