Future Bayern Legends?

Postby krkla » Tue Aug 27, 2013 12:34 pm

I've been wondering which of our current players will go into the history books as true legends, such as Gerd Müller Franz Beckenbauer and so forth. I know that all of our players from last years treble season will have a place in the book, but who will really stand out. Will they have to win the World Cup as the above mentioned to gain the same status? What's your thoughts?

Easily- Lahm, Schweinsteiger for club loyalty. Ribery for his many contributions over the 6 years he's been here and many more to come. I'd like Muller, Alaba to become legends based on club loyalty though but who knows where their future lies. Sadly, Neuer and Gotze could be legends of football, but their past as players for Schalke and BvB would indicate the ultras would not like them to stay as club legends as they would be controversial.
1 former player who will become a legend is Miroslav Klose for his contributions for fair play and also the amount of goals for Germany.
When Uli retires, I would love to see Kahn up there watching with Karl-Heinz.

Mehmet Scholl once offered a mixtape CD to Oliver Kahn. Kahn replied: Do you want me to shoot myself? Keep your crap to yourself.

1. Franck Ribery
2. Bastian Schweinsteiger
3. Arjen Robben
4. Phillip Lahm
These are already Bayern legends. I was confused whether Robben should be no.3 or Lahm, but his 2k10 and 2k13 CL exploits influenced my choice even though we all know how loyal and awesome Lahm is. I guess even he won't mind it. :)

Mueller is ahead of the rest of the pack. Kroos and Alaba, close.
Neuer next.
Mandzukic, Dante, and Boateng should be judged after at least one or two more years.
Gotze and Thiago are just starting out so, at least 3 years and a CL.

If you're talking from the German legend perspective :-
1. Basti
2. Lahm
3. Mueller

Let's hope he would be at least on par with Gerd Mueller before we can consider him to be the best Bayern striker ever... :P

Maybe Ribery, but certainly not Robben.
Kraft
Lahm, Hummels, Badstuber, Contento
Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Can
Schöpf, Müller, Alaba

Lahm,Basti,Ribery from the current squad are out of question, they already are for many reasons, from being constantly quality player to loyalty e.t.c

From the youngsters I could easily see Muller not only as a #futurebayernlegend but as a succesfull Captain.
Then it comes Kroos,I like this guy for many reasons and I like his style of play,if he stays(which I hope so) then he definetely be a legend, just like Basti.
Alaba,as long as he plays like this and being so constantly good like Lahm for example, there is no doubt, youth product,LB with so much class.

I don't know why is even a question about Robben being a Bayern Legend, this guy gave us some great moments and wonderful football to remember about, someone can say "but he gave us a 2012 nightmare" THAT'S the reason why we should consider him a legend,he came back with crucial performances and he decided our CL trophy.Definetely a Bayern Legend. You just can't find such a quality winger in the future, capable of doing this, moreover he is already 4 years our #10 :P

P.S:I'm backing Hojberg too :P

Yeah, if Robben stays for an extra season or two, he might be put under the "Bayern Legends" tag.

Well, that goal will definitely be remembered always. However, I don't see a player getting the "Legendary" status unless he spends a significant amount of years with the club. The definition of significant is not clear, but for me it should be at least 5 seasons. Plus, deciding to retire here (as Ribsy) would be a big bonus as well.

Some very good points so far, i also think that a players aftermath is very important. Either by working in the club, or being a panel guest discussing Bayern matters like for example Kahn and Scholl.

I disagree with this statement purely because you contradict yourself. And furthermore i don't see Klose as a Bayern legend, he wasn't here for that long, he didn't accomplish anything that Neuer hasn't already achieved, and he didn't really play as good as we could hope for. He surely was a great player for us, but not a legend.
