Gerd muller would have scored many more against the likes of david luiz, mangala and blind..who call themselves defenders today..

While I agree that Gerd would score less in today's game because of evolving defensive standards, to not understate him it's worth noting that not many legendary strikers at all can boast similar stats to his. I mean, those are almost Pele-level numbers.

I love Robben, but there's no way he's ahead of Ribéry in a best XI list.

People had divided opinions on who deserved the Ballon d'Or more between Ribery and Robben back in 2013... it could easily be one reason why Ribery failed to win it. People like goalscorers and Robben is more of a goalscorer than Ribery.
Robben played less that year, one thing that spoke in his disadvantage but he scored in the most important games.

Past and today, we're talking about humans, they had 2 legs each back then like today... :P the competition was fairer and not everything was about the money.

Jens Ulbrich analysed how many ELO points each German team collected in their European Cup history. It is no surprise to see Bayern at the top of the list, but interesting to see that they collected as many points as the next three teams combined (Dortmund, Karlsruhe! and Schalke). If you have no idea what ELO point are about, the site “Football Club Elo Ratings” can help you out. http://clubelo.com/
