What does rebroadcast infer ... delayed broadcast? Do I want to pay Bezos for something already available live on Fox or a stream?

Seems a ton of games are airing only on FS+, the channel that no one has......

I have both FS1 and 2, and now get hd on fs2, however, the coverage has been rather average.... I have nbc sports, bein and fs and the EPL presentation is by far the best out of the 3 networks.....

However, I do not have extra time anymore.

Excuses won’t help Bundesliga in TV ratings battle between FOX and NBC Read more at: https://tr.im/nmrjt

Not surprisingly, the Dortmund-Bayern game on FX failed to crack 200,000 viewers despite the channel being in more than 92 million homes across the United States. FOX announced the change on Friday, which is the worst day of the week to announce any news. While the ultimate decision was the correct one, FOX missed a golden opportunity to bring the Bundesliga to a wider audience. Next time, hopefully FOX will get its act together sooner for a game of this importance. Read more at: https://tr.im/7OZTv

EVERYONE: Fox Bundesliga Coverage Campaign

Postby pyrasur » Mon Mar 21, 2016 6:00 am

I found out through this forum that the Bayern Dortmund game was on FX. I don't pay for cable, but when I tried to get my family back home to watch the game, it took half an hour for them to find the game because of how hidden it was.

Now the English league enjoys a couple of marketing advantages over the Bundesliga in the US. The English cultural connection is probably the biggest, and maybe the fact that to watch the Saturday Bundesliga games on the West Coast requires one to wake up as early as 0630, and you aren't exactly joining your mates at the pub to watch the game in that case.

Still the network executives marketing the Bundesliga have completely failed to take advantage over the superiority of the German league, besides completely failing to advertise their coverage or dropping the ball on informing the public on the channel switches. They focus on the same aspects of German football as they would an English game, and ignore the qualities that make German football unique.

For example they could make an effort to include the American public in the background of German football fan culture. Also there is no way the likes of Sunderland or Watford should draw more interest than Stuttgart or Mainz. Somehow Watford beating a perennial number four Arsenal is somehow spun as stunning and surprising by Fox which owns FA cup rights, yet the same network can't show how astonishing Hertha Berlin's current third place effort is? Somehow Tottenham keeping within title sight of freaking Leicester is more exciting than the records Dortmund is breaking to keep up with Bayern? Finally the quality of football is just way better in Germany. Granted, NBC has made the premier league the McDonalds of football, which for the generally not football savvy American accessibility and simplicity goes a way. But still, at least McDonalds customers know they getting shit food. Fox has a gourmet version on its hands and can't figure out a way to communicate that they have it.

I truly don't understand what fox is doing.

Ugh I feel your pain.

It also pains me to hear of Americans who become fans of teams like Stoke, Everton, or Tottenham because there is an American somewhere on the roster, never mind the crap football that club plays. Meanwhile, the only Americans with any talent are in the Bundesliga but they get ignored because "Borussia Mönchengladbach? That must be like a small club right? Must not be currently Champions League caliber or have once been a force in Europe during the 70's"

This is a process that will take years. USA is not a "soccer" country and is tough to have millions of northamericans watching bundesliga games inmediately.

The best form to get the attention of the USA market is with Bayern travelling there more constantly and playing against MLS teams, also participating in the international friendlies, as many european teams had been playing there in the last years.

But this have to wait for others season, because with the EURO 2016, our next preseason will be limited with less time and a new coach.
Super-Bayern! Super-Bayern! Hey! Hey!

I think the best way to market in the US would be to have a good American player in the squad.
Americans went crazy after that goal against Belgium by Green. Had he become a quality player, we'd have a much larger American market for us.

We should scout for a good USA'n, Russian, Chinese, Japanse, RoK'n and a DPRK'n player. We'll get plenty of market. :P Seriously though, isn't there a great Chinese player ?
