Discussion: Short-Term Planning to Get Out of the Crisis

Postby dambun » Sun Oct 03, 2010 7:39 pm

Let's not discuss about which players we prefer to buy in the winter now... We should wait until then to find out exactly which positions we need to improve... because right now, it seems we have lots of problems in every f**king position...

What we DESPERATELY NEED right now... is to gather as much points as possible...
Based on previous few years' table at the winter break, if we win all of our 10 remaining matches in the first round of the season, we will be DER HERBSTMEISTER... We should be thinking about it... Of course being at the top of the table in the winter break is not that important, but if we don't start gathering points right now, we might even lose the CL... and that's not something anyone of us can stand for a moment...

I created this topic, for everyone to bring their ideas, on what should be done to start winning our games again...
let's do a brainstorming guys... I hope it'll be helpful...

Well... One issue is this:
We are less productive than we all have thought we would be before the season...

I think part of it is because of those few percentages we lack in terms of fitness... part of it is because most of our players, especially our strikers, lack confidence.... part of it's because all our opponents fear us(!), so they all defend well against us... part of it's because our attacking style has become too predictable for the opponents...

I think a tactical change of play will do us good in terms of making our attack force less predictable...
Consider a 1-man DM line in place of the 2-man line we have: Use Tymo as CDM

Schweinsteiger: showed again today that he has a lot of potential playing a more advanced role... as CM
Kroos: he is not a winger... He may play well there for a team like Leverkusen... But in a team like Bayern where the opponents defend with many players, he won't succeed as a winger... He simply doesn't have the necessary speed (Just like Schweini when he played there)... He is obviously a CM/CAM...
So we need to use a formation like this in midfield:

CDM: --------------- Tymo
CMs: -------Schweini --- Kroos

Let's forget about the "MvB must play" rule.... because it's time for a change now...

MVB must be dropped.

---------------------------Butt-----------------------
Lahm------Breno----------Badstuber----Contento
-----------------Schweini-----Tymo-----------------
-Ribery------------------Kroos-------------Robben-
--------------------------Muller----------------------

Now, considering our injuries:

------------------------Butt--------------------------
Lahm--------DVB------------Badstuber----Pranjic
----------------Schweini-----Tymo------------------
-Altintop-------------------------------------Muller
----------------Gomez------Olic-------------------

or else:

-----------------------Butt----------------------
Lahm-------DVB----------Badstuber--Pranjic
-------------Schweini----Tymo----------------
-Altintop------------Kroos----------------Olic
----------------------Muller--------------------

I'm all for trying out Muller as a ST now because he's a real fighter, and he's one of our few players who scored this season. He's probably got more confidence than all our other strikers together right now.

We definitely need to get Breno in good form. Considering that will take some time we need to work Demi much more so he steps up as the starting CB with Badstuber.

Also Tymo is a better player than MvB, and also will work better. Let him play as CDM with Kroos and Schweini as CMs.

Also Gomez must start more.

TZ came up with interesting stats to show how big our crisis is

I have used them and translated them and made an interesting Article from them

==================
Notice

In positive Stats , The Higher ranking the better

in Negative Stats , The lower Ranking the better

A-Goal scoring issue

-we Have Scored 5 Goals (1 of them is an own goal) Which makes us the Worst Offense in the league (rank 18 in that aspect)

-But in the Term " BIG SCORING CHANCES" we are rank 2nd with 15 Big Scoring Chances , only Dortmund had more than us !!!

-Which means that we have only scored 20 % from our chances (Remember form those 15 we scored 4)

-OUR FORWARDS HAVE scored 0 Goals (all clubs except us have scored via their strikers)

-We Have Not Scored Any Headers even though we have Great Heading players (in all competitions)
-We Have not Scored any goal from A Corner (in all competitions)

The LAST 2 FACTS LEAD US TO OTHER STATS

-OUR PLAYERS HAVE Crossed 108 Crosses which is 2nd most after Hamburg

-We Have Received 61 Corner kicks , AND WE LEAD THE LEAGUE IN THAT ASPECT

so why havent we scored a header or from a corner kick ?!

===================

B-USELESS GAME CONTROL

- The Pass accuracy of Bayern is 86% , Which is the highest in the league (without van Bommel , we would have 99% , am sure of that :mrgreen: )

-The Average Ball possession is 64% , ALSO HIGHEST IN THE LEAGUE

-Reason of that is the High passing skill of Schweinsteiger , and good chemistry with MVB

C-The Defense has some GREAT STATS , Some Bad stats and POOR REALITY

Good defensive stats

-Our Team Has Faced THE LEAST Goal-Scoring CHANCES FROM THE OPPONENTS yet we conceded more than many other teams

-We Have conceded only 1 Goal from a counter attack , Making us rank 14 in goals conceded from counters (rank 18 is the best because it is a negative stat)

-Our opponents have got Only 24 Corner kicks against us , Which is the LOWEST in the league (so we are the best because facing CKs is a bad stat)

-Our Team has 56% of the tackles , which is among the best in the league

-We have made the least Fouls in the league ,also recieved the least number of cards

Now to the BAD Defensive

-IN the term "Direct Tackles on Ball" We Rank 18 which is the lowest in the league

-We are The worst team in the league in winning Balls in the air

Thanks Ele, great post.

I just disagree about our "great heading players". Who?
DvB should be good and during the first part of the last season he was a good weapon in the air, but in these days he seems lost and I've never seen a good header by him in the last months (he scores a brace with Belgium, but both goals with empty net).
Schweini has a good timing in the box and he's really good in finding the right gap at the far post: good movement, not that good headers...
Other players? Lahm, Contento, Pranjic, MvB, Altintop, Kroos, Ribery, Robben and Olic simply can't score with headers (I mean, maybe Olic can, but Lyon's way, not from a corner...). Badstuber takes corners and free-kicks, so it's difficult to head them home. Gomez and Klose are totally out of confidence, so - head of foots - they can't score.
I'm really concerned about our little potential in the air and maybe that's why it seems so difficult to drop DvB.
Still missing my dear Deisler...

==Lahm=========CB========Badstuber===Contento/LB=
====================Schweini=====================
==============Muller=========Kroos===============
=Robben===================================Ribery=
=====================Dzeko======================

There you go! I've given you your perfect Bayern team. :P Of course, Dzeko might not even be needed. A lot actually depends on how Muller adapts to the ST position. If Muller is good enough to keep the ST position, we can always keep Tymo, who I believe is still world-class and one of the best CDMs in the world, or get Sahin or any other CM. With Muller it is slightly better because total football becomes easier, and with that, our unpredictability increases, but I highly doubt whether Muller can become as good as Dzeko in the ST position.

Seriously, so many options become possible just by dropping MVB. I hope LVG realises this soon.

Louis Van Gaal talking about our Crisis

Van Gaal said " THERE IS NO CRISIS IN MUNICH"

and that the reason of the Bad progress of our team in the Bundesliga is A MENTAL Problem

he said that the only problem is translating chances into goals

"Germany had 5 chances , and they have scored 3 of them , this is what we lack here"

Well, he's right, but that doesn't change the fact that we're in a crisis both position-wise and injury-wise.

IMHO NT's football is more attractive than ours at the moment

Germany NT football is the msot attarctive football in the world (more than South Americans)

and the most Attractive European Football for over than a Decade

And This made People Talk about Germany and Uruguay waaaaaaay more than Spain

Till this moment , i hear of Germanys 4-1 vs England and 4-0 vs Argentina

but People have forgotten Spain after 4 days of the final

Spain might have won the Trophy , But Germany was The Real Champion , and Uruguay was the Master of the Hearts Because of the Passion they have played with , The Fun they made , and Diego Forlan who had A World cup that Would make LEGENDS PROUD

in fact , I forgot who won The WC2010 till my Brother Reminded me

====

I do not want us to play attractive football , this will come later

i only want us to gain 30 points from the next 10 games

Bayern can hardly win the championship any longer. But we can still finish between the top three and five,''

Beckenbauer told Sport-Bild weekly in an interview published Wednesday. "We have to make sure that the gap doesn't get bigger by the winter break.''
Beckenbauer also blasted Bayern's possession-based style under coach Louis van Gaal, whose contract was recently extended by one season.
"You can keep Possession football if you want but If you have possession, you should make something out of it,'' Beckenbauer said. "Just pushing the ball around and playing it back to the goalkeeper is surely not the idea of possession.

Anything below third would be catastrophic. It is always bad for us not to qualify for the CL, but for it to happen this season of all seasons, when we have been preparing and hoping to win in 2012 for so long, would be an nightmare.
