It's not good to be on FIFA's side, that thing is going down... England and other countries want it down.
I'm afraid that they're right, FIFA sold their soul to the devil. I want to see Blatter run 10 minutes in the Qatari summer.
This is a campaign against WC 2022...

While I'd agree that the Saudi Arabia visit was a mistake, the rest of the argument is bigottery beyond belief. German MP's have had no problems whatsoever voting for strengthening economic relationships with Saudi Arabia, approving of weapons exports and Leopard panzer deals. That includes our holier-than-thou SPD and Greens. Selling Leopards to Saudi Arabia apparently isn't a problem, but playing a football game there is.

Bayern should've never supported that WC and I don't know why they did, but I don't like it at all.
Organizing WCs where there are no conditions to be held. Brazil, Russia, Qatar... WTF!
Brazil with all the protests... Russia playing wars... Qatar weather, etc...
England is not happy that they were denied the WC so things are coming out.
They're just pretending to care about human rights, there's a different background to this.

Isn't this the fifth year running that Bayern goes to Qatar for the Winter training camp? Did human rights violations in Qatar start happening from this year?

Whilst I condemn any form of violation of rights in any country in the world, I think these articles are pure BS. It's ridiculous that Bayern are labelled as accepting of human rights violations just for visiting Saudi Arabia for a friendly and to boost their image like any other business (not just sports clubs) in the world wants to do.

What about the clubs being run on money that comes directly from underpaid and abused workers?

Well, it's not the wisest move, playing in Saudi Arabia right after having promoted the "Mia San Charlie" thing via Twitter. Kinda defeats the purpose.

Personally I disagree. We did not discriminate against Saudi Arabia, we visited anyway and allowed the football fans there the chance to see one of the biggest sides in Europe, one that they probably don't get to see often. Among them a good number of world cup stars.

Bayern are not politicians nor are they involved in politics. It's not like Bayern officials were stopping women from entering the stadium or that the players went to a public flogging after the match. Bayern simply visited the country, and in no way did we condone these barbaric actions.

What's the point of talking about freedom and equality if we refuse to bring sport to some country? This has nothing to do with politics and I find it ridiculous that it's being made so. 99 times out of a 100 sport goes beyond politics to bring people together.

Qatar is a different story, however, as in that case the presence of the world cup is directly affecting the lives and conditions of people.

The thing I despise the most in the world of football are these oil clubs with no identity, I will go easier now on.

This is utterly ridiculous, really, especially when you consider that Israel, the most barbaric country in the world, is affiliated to the UEFA, but it's ok, since it's politically correct to spit on muslim countries nowadays.

I 'spit' on my own country when something isn't right.
