Is Neuer the one in blue?

I don't think so. Hair's looking a bit too short to be Neuer's, though I may be mistaken.

There is one major flaw in that article; the author assumes that the loss must be blamed on either the system or the coach. Anyone who watched Bayern for more than the United and Real Madrid games knows that the players were simply not in form and everything went wrong that month. Yet the author refuses to entertain the possibility that the players are to blame.

In the Bernabeu we deserved to lose but were not outplayed. In Munich we were playing decently until our players showed they are incapable of defending set-pieces and conceded twice in a few minutes, and then the tie was over. Real threatened us very little from open play so I find it hard to understand how one can blame the tactics. Certainly Guardiola must share part of the blame in set-piece defending and we must see an improvement in that regard this season, but undoubtedly the players also must bear responsibility. After all, set-pieces have been our Achilles' heel for far longer than Guardiola has been here.

I also find it hard to understand why he mentions the Arsenal game, seeing as we did much better against them than we did with Heynckes in 2012/13.

The confirmation of how clueless the author is comes at the end of the article, where he believes reports that the most successful coach of the modern era is stupid enough to drop Schweinsteiger and Robben (he said he's in love with the latter). He even goes so far as to point at pre-season as an indication of this, even though none of the players he mentioned have yet joined the team and no one can know how Pep plans to fit them into the new system, or whether he will keep that system at all.

Interesting view. Worth to read.

However, if one looks closely, it is not possession based football, per se, which has been proven vulnerable, but rather much more individual error and stubbornness.

Says it all. A fact that people should know if they're not facile and ignorant.
