There's something I wanted to discuss. It's nick-names.
We don't do nick-names nowadays, do we?
None of the players playing have a "proper" nick assigned with them. Like Titan, Tiger, Kaiser, Bomber, The Cat from Anzing, The General.
I'm not taking the 'Superman Neuer' into consideration. :P It's not gone global yet.
Mueller's "The Raumdeuter" is well known but it's also self-coined.

Two questions :
1. Were these nick-names assigned due to NT or club performances? I am not entirely sure but I tend to believe it was for NT performances. That'll probably explain the lack of it in current times.
2. I remember reading about 'Brietnigge' too. Any other nicknames we've used which identify someone explicitly other than mentioned by me already? Interested in Bayern players only.

The news item just now referred to Basti as Mr. Bayern. I was perplexed and I guess even he'd be too when he sees it.
That should be used only for Uli.

Ive also been perplexed about the whole nickname scenario, but it seems like nicknames are a thing of an older generation.

But shouldn't it be easier to coin nicknames today with social media? But it's not in vogue so we don't see them. Ironically, the media makes everything up, why can't they think of nicknames. Is Ray Hudson the only one left with metaphors? ](*,)

With a 19-point lead following up last year’s triumph 25 points ahead of Borussia Dortmund, many football fans bemoan that FC Bayern dominates too much. It would supposedly be bad for the Bundesliga, especially with FCB’s habit of buying some of the best talents. I have a problem with that. More: Is Bayern’s domination destroying the Bundesliga?

I see what you are doing here.

In May you are coming with a follow up: "Is Bayern Domination Destroying the Champions League?"

In July; the wrap up: "Is Bayern Domination destroying the World Cup?"

17 Bayern munich players called up for March Friendlies [source]

With Ribery and Badstuber fit we would have 19 players. Next objective is to reach 20 players. :P Damn we are going to suffer next season.
