I have no idea what it's like in the US but judging from the amount of US fans on this forum (even though some are inactive), I think the number of Bayern fans in the US is bigger than most people think. Donovan, and now even Klinsmann, probably attracted a few fans.

I do think that a US tour is a great idea though :)

Being a fan in the US I can honestly tell you most US Soccer fans don't even know Klinnsmann and Donovan were at Bayern Munich at one point. Its disappointing for me when people ask me what team I like and I respond with "Bayern Munich" and they say "Who?".

That's why we need to make ourselves known over here. The way the sport is growing here, making a fan base would be easy.

Couldn't agree more... Bayern needs to be more active in the US market....

Its obviously a trend with European clubs -- look at ManU, Chelsea, Barca, ManCity doing Summer friendlies and tournaments in the US. I am sure Bayern will follow suit especially after they did with getting an oriental player -- wait for the trend then do it. I am surprised in the first place all those years ago when Bayern made a strategic partnership with Urawa Red Diamonds that we never got a Japanese player in the first place. Bayern should be more ground breaking and set the pace -- Looks like ManU and other clubs are doing that.
