And it's the league which cost him. Too little rotation.

I have mixed feelings about this season. Overall disappointed but there were some very good moments. We need to make sure they become more regular.

I have to wonder about this.
Carlo has always had a reputation as a poor domestic league manager.
I wonder....perhaps he saw the Bundesliga as an opportunity to start changing that reputation? I wonder if maybe he didn't rest as many players in BL games because he wanted to "prove" beyond doubt he can win in domestic league too.

Well, I had the impression every time he did actually change something we were shit...
I think with all the praise he gets for his man-management, he pretty mich screwed that up... Just 14-15 players, very few of them in good form, and almost chasing away our young hopes for the next few years...

this is the biggest issue... older players who not as effective as they once were - whose fault is it that they are still playing? The coach, for putting them in the Starting XI? Or management, for not giving him younger players to work with?

(maybe a mix of the two...)

Outside of the center backs, there was a young option in every position that wasn't utilized. Kimmich at right back. The left back position is as youthful as it gets. Sanches obtained at great cost and never used. Coman rarely used.

Even at striker, Ancelotti could have tried Müller well before that failed experiment against Madrid.

It takes 2 to tango. Is the coach pushing enough for new blood or is he happy with the status quo and just keep warming his seat with his hands in his pockets?

I thought about that but it's a mistake anyway. We would have won anyway. We might even have more points if we had rotated last weekend, for example.

One week after we lined up our oldest CL lineup (or something like that, don't remember exactly). It's an obvious problem.

This season left a sense of dissatisfaction, as it was in the last season's, there is always the feel of a missing link.

It seems as if our players are traumatized by the last seasons, so they underperform in that part where everything is being decided. Such a shame. Now our weaknesses are definitely exposed, and if we don't solve these, things will get uglier in the future, starting from next season.

This year really gave me anxiety. We must overcome this.

We have to forget a bad finish with a good start. It can all happen during the transfer window. With the likes of Ronaldo, Neymar, Bale, Hazard, Messi, Griezmann around, you can't depend on Brandt and Gnabry.

There's more into it. We are getting too comfortable with this international status lately, and we are really enjoying it, but it gives us a shaky display lately. Our players are mentaly unprepared for the big stage. All they are getting is praise in the domestic competitions. With guardiola the players were just focused on the tactical approach, they were asked to abandon their football instincts and play in a safe way minimalizing the chance of a mistake. That had a bad impact on our overall performance. Now when we changed the coach, the lack of fighting spirit is shown. With Jupp we looked like a forest fire on the pitch, now we are like a campfire. The number of chances we created against Real Madrid from actual play shows the stationary approach we have.

This is not the Bayern we have to build our future on. We need to slap our team and give them competition, we need them to believe there's much more to show, tell them that Real Madrid, Barcelona, even Atletico and Juve have showed more lately than we did, instead of saying we are on the same level,or even greater than RM and Barca, that is obviously a thing of the past. If we want to take our team on greater heights, then get rid of the harmony and decieveing, Bundesliga title is enough? We don't need transfers? Come on, keep it in mind that not a long ago, Werder Bremen was a great team and AC Milan was the best team in the world. Where are they now ? Paying for their mistakes. Bayern is not untouchable aswell. Stop being cheap for **** sake already and face the reality.

We should have won the double, at least, this season. I had said it in the Real Madrid thread (post elimination) also in the Dortmund DFB Pokal thread, that we look a much better attacking side when Muller plays behind Lewandowski. When both of them are fit, both should start with Lewandowski as striker and Muller behind him. Today was again a great example of that.

Alonso should never have started against Dortmund in the Cup and he was the absolutely worst player in that second half. Carlo shouldn't have been so rigid with his team selections.

But still a fifth successive league win is no small achievement. Congratulations to Bayern and hopefully we win the treble next season. Bayern need at least two big name signings and a decent backup CF and they'll be good for next season. Also don't dump Costa yet, Robben is getting old and is susceptible to injuries so we need a good backup in that RW position.

My choices for this Summer would be Alexis(Arsenal), James(Madrid)/Veratti(PSG) and Dost(Sporting Lisbon)
£35-40 m for Sanchez, £30m for Dost and make a strong bid for either James or Veratti, no more than £60m though. Money shouldn't be a problem for us and if we do well in CL next year then recovering £100m won't be a problem.
