You would lose your house than.

No doubt in my mind that Carlo will look to bring in a cm this summer and a new rb, unless the board and carlo are going to give that role to kimmich as lahm's understudy.

No (not yet) and no...

Kimmich is not bad... He still needs to lear a lot though... And he was playing in 2. Bundesliga for a while, while many people didn'T know him much... Kinda including me...

Kimmich brings in everything you need to be a top-class #6, but he's still got a huge way to go.

The midfielder-turned-defender said he and Guardiola watched hundreds of videos in preparation for the positional switch.

"We watched more than 200 videos together," Martinez explained.

"From the start, Pep told me he could see me as a defender and I had to be ready. So we started to exercise every day. A lot of repetitive movements on the training pitch. It could be boring at times - but you need it."

"I played as a defender with [Marcelo] Bielsa at Athletic Bilbao. He was so special and gave me something I had never seen but what Pep wanted wasn't the same."

"Bielsa made you go man-to-man, so it was easier."

"But with Pep, we trained. First month, second month, over and over. Then you start to improve. Your mentality changes and you start thinking like a centre-back."

It will be the midfielder-turned-defender-then-turned-midfielder-again.

In my opinion, the manager should have power over transfers.... I think this is a huge reason why Pep is leaving bayern.

Obviously, it's a risk financially for the club, but every mananger has their preference in tactics and the players they want to employ in thos tactics. I think at City, he will be granted that power.

A manager has to adapt... that's the 1st rule. Even Ancelotti said that recently IIRC.

Look at Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho, Simeone, etc.

These guys play their guys, not better players, etc. Wenger plays 5 cams at once and recruits France primarily, Jose plays more defensive minded players and dropped juan mata, felipe luis, etc. He let salah and cuadrado go for cheap because they didn't fit and yet both are doing serie a with ease.

Simeone plays guys that fit his system, which is why Oliver never gets gametime, mario manzukic got sold after a season and jackson after half a season.

Carlo is a different story though, but Carlo isn't like pep, mourinho, or simeone.

Robben is an inverted winger
Ribery is complete - he can do both.
Costa is most definitely not inverted
Coman has potential to be both but is not right now.

Next season if we are looking at replacements for Robbery we need to add a clear inverted winger - like to like - replacement for Robben. Coman will still take time to get there and its just not to Costa's strengths.

Ancelloti should have the option to play two inverted wingers, two direct wingers, or 1 inverted - 1 direct. In an ideal world we have four "complete" wingers but thats impossible and not many truly exist like that.

I know Sanchez makes a case for being inverted and can be some what of a like to like replacement for Robben.

In my opinion, its impossible but my fav choice would be Willian because he is a complete winger in my opinion - 1on1's, inverted, crossing, finishing, tracking back. Checks all the boxes.

Well he isn't getting Messi at City either, and it seems like without him Pep doesn't really know how to break down defenses regardless.

Also, only country where coaches really are "managers" is England... And I think we can all agree they're worth shit in Europe right now... The club has to create a philosophy... New coaches should always have a say... And they do here... But it's still better the way it is now...

The coach simply can't have every call... before a coach is appointed the club has some investments that a current coach might not like... simply said the coach is there temporary so he can't have every call... most of time the coach thinks short term... it's on the management to think long term. The coach has to adapt...
Imagine if coaches are granted their every wish... what a mess would it be every time after changing coach.
What did it take Ferguson to become what he was at MUFC? Not everyone can be Ferguson... and he wasn't always that Ferguson that we've known as of late.
Pep had a WC team in disposition here and none of his predecessors had more freedom than him.
You're telling me that Allegri is the one that goes for players with 0 parameters?
