I still maintain that he should play LCB in a 3 man back line. He has the build for it but also the speed to cover for Boateng and Benatia. It also leaves Bernat to play wingback, he's just too good to leave off the pitch. Bayerns successful runs with 3 at the back all included Alaba

This thread is useless due to the fact we have none whatsoever.

Yeah, Pep's teams have no tactical setup... Uli Hoeness has not managerial qualities.... and Bayern have no money! we're all doomed for sure...

I read somewhere that he will be our new reserve GK because Pepe Reina is leaving and Starke is old

So you want to leave Lewy and Thiago on the bench. For a guy who is not even a winger, a guy who has failed to live up to his hype and a honorless guy like vidal.... Great.

Ultimately I see Bayern as...

------------Lewy
Sterling?--Müller--Götze
-------Alaba----Thiago
Bernat---Badstuber--Boateng---RFB
--------------Neuer

Once Robben and Lahm are out. Boatengs natural side seems to be on right, that's why no Benatia.

Lol Thiago showed more in his short season than Götze did all year. PlusI can't believe people still think Lahm will play RB anymore. And yeah Vidal is a dirty player, I don't care how good he is, no way would I ever want a classless player like him at Bayern.

seriously I don't care which midfielder that we buy. all I know is that Alaba is better in the midfield and his full potential is ut ilized in the midfield. when he's in the midfield in the matches that he played whether top or small opposition, our transition and dynamism has much much better than without him.
also let keep robben and get another winger. gotze should return to his favorite position and get another right back.
we have been cut short this season due little details either with player positioning or tactics, I jx hope that nx season we get better luck with injuries and achieve our aim.

You all want a new CM but where will he stay? Our midfield is packed. We have Schwein, Lahm, Thiago, Alaba, Alonso, Muller, Hojbjerg if he gets back, Martinez. 8 guys for 3 places

Considering the players we have, I dont think we need to make very serious investments. then again I would welcome a pricey but definitely talented new superstar to the squad. Given the players we could a 3-1-4-2 without having to rely on Schweinsteiger, Xabi, or Lahm. This ofcourse is under the assumption that the players we currently have step it up this upcoming season. We could field something like

Thiago takes the Xabi Role, Götze can take an attacking role, anf Javi supports both the attack and the defense. Because Pep sees Javi as a cb he can drop back to the center with Boateng shifting to the left and Alaba coming up to the center. Bernat can offer width on the left side. Robben can play more forward and offer that attacking threat from the right side while also adding width.
Under this system we sell Dante and buy a young cb, buy a new RW/ST(like Lacazette or Griezmann) incase Robben, Müller, or Lewa is injured. Bring back Hojbjerg. We could keep Ribery, Schweinsteiger, Alonso, Rode, and Rafinha on the bench. Lastly we can continue developing our youth.
Ofcourse this all depends on how much Götze and Thiago step it up. I wish they could develop into a dribbling and distributing world class duo. If only things would work out this way

Do any of you guys REALLY think that three at the back can work against our toughest opponents? I think that's what we should be focused on, what to do against our toughest opponents.

Obviously we also need to be completely dominant against lower sides so that we win ourselves another league title, but despite some of our matches near the end of the season - almost all of the time it seems like Pep has had that part figure out.
